There are 2 proximity sensors:
1- a virtual proximity sensor (Samsung Palm Proximity Sensor V2)
2- an actual hardware proximity sensor (appears to be inaccessible by any third-party app without workarounds)
The Phone app appears to be the only app allowed to use the physical sensor. These Samsung proximity oddities aren’t new, however, and seem to date back at least to the S23 generation, where every phone, including the Ultra, has the same Samsung Palm Proximity Sensor V2 sensor that behaves in the same odd way... WTF Samsung!

The difference between Samsung Exynos and Snapdragon in the S24 is negligible. Just another clueless fanboi spouting reddit nonsense. But doesn't even have the brains to read the review right here. Samsung Exynos has been hit and miss. But for the S24 it hit just fine. Get some experience and research behind you rather then gaining someone else's opinion and copying it.
The S23 is weaker and the lack of updates forthcoming are a major part of that. The S24 is good stuff, worth the money and will get the updates.

Just updated to Android 15.....And I must say this update is amazing . it is buttery smooth and does not heat up. Moreover, battery life has improved considerably. Now with heavy usage during the day, I have about 60% battery life when I get home from work. Extremely satisfied with this update.....P S love you Samsung

S23 will be stucked at Android 17/One UI 9(S27) while S24 will go up to Android 21/One UI 13(S31). Using the S24 will still look fresh for a very long time compared to S23. If someone can afford both, I dont see why they would consider buying the S23 over the S24 from now when the former has already burned two years of upgrades and it has 2 left.

Siv, 03 Feb 2025Would an upgrade costing an additional 50,000 be worthwhile... moreFor the 7 years(6 left) of support compared to S23 4 years(2 left), I think going for S24 over S23 is very much worth it. But for the much higher price S25 is absolutely not worthy tho.
