SteveUk, 23 Mar 2024I think the complaints about a "grainy" screen mu... moreYou're right, vividness has been fixed with updates, but graininess hasn't. Paying over $1000 for the phone, I would expect some kind of perfection, and what I can see from the reviews, this defect depended on the location where a given batch was manufactured, and unfortunately it is impossible to predict which batch the ordered phone will come from when I buy it online for example 😏
I don't think these are anyone's inventions. Some users replaced 2-3 phones and still experienced the same problem. Personally, I wouldn't like to experience something similar, so the final choice has been made and it will be S23U 512/12GB 😁

      1. The armor may have an effect on this display. You may try turning the Adaptive Color Tone off. I cannot guarantee that this action will solve your problem. I do this because I want a normal AMOLED display, just like my old A8 (2018).
      2. For the Wi-Fi matter, you may use MESH Wi-Fi at your home. It can make Wi-Fi more stable and better than a modem/router/extender only. You may check your provider as well.

After a few days of use, only a few problems:
color change at various viewing angles of the display - assumption that it is due to the new anti-reflective layer,
mostly not a big problem because the benefit of anti-reflection is huge. The graininess of the display does not exist for me.
Another problem is wifi, a large variation in speed and random disconnection, especially on the 5ghz band.
On the 2.4 band, the speed also varies, but there is no disconnection.
I sincerely hope this is a software issue that will be fixed in future patches.

Because honestly, the display is fantastic! There are some YouTube reviews that are saying it's the best on the market.

There was a small issue to begin with with the colour vividness (people couldn't tell much difference), but this was sorted out in the update - there is now a vivid slider and it's far more noticeable (...I prefer the screen on Natural though).

I will say this, my soul tells me S23U and my mind tells me S24U 😁
I really like the look of the S23U, but the flat screen of the S24U seems to be more practical.
The price difference is not that huge, especially considering the subsequent number of available updates in the case of S24U. Also there are some voices in the background talking about potential problems with the display in S24U (graininess, color vibrancy), has something like this happened to you?

Jack, 22 Mar 2024Ladys and gents Im expecting credit card with some nice lim... moreJust imagine: the S23U and S24U (with the same RAM/ROM) are in front of you.
Then ask yourself: does the price difference bother you?
              The answer is:
              If yes, get the S23U.
              If not, get the S24U.
Ultimately, your wallet will make the decision for you.

As for me, I bought the S24U because I prefer the newest model and I plan to use this phone for as long as I can, taking advantage of the 7-year update period.

Is it possible to use it for 7 years? Some may say no because of the battery. As for me, I have already proven it myself with my A8 (2018), which is just a few months away from reaching 7 years.

Jack, 22 Mar 2024Ladys and gents Im expecting credit card with some nice lim... moreI was in a similar position to you recently (upgrading to either the S23U or S24U). In the end, I went with the S24U... mainly because of the totally flat screen, slightly better battery life and 7 years of OS updates. Plus, I thought if I'm spending this much on a new phone, I may as well fork out a few hundred quid more for the newer model... I plan on keeping it for a good few years to come.

The S23U is fantastic too though - and you're more likely to get a good bargain/deal on one, now the S24U is out. And if you don't mind the screen not being flat - or the fewer years of support/updates, then it might be the sensible option.

So basically... they're both great: if you're on a tighter budget, go for the S23U. If not, then go for the S24U (...you won't regret it! 💪).

Ladys and gents Im expecting credit card with some nice limit to spend coming next week and I can't decide if I should go for S24U or S23U...
I'm slowly starting to get tired of watching comparisons because each time they end with the words: "both are equally good" 🤦‍♂️😃
Of course, the price may be some help in making the final choice, but on the other hand I wonder if it would be worth adding a few extra $$ and going for S24U 🤔
                  Any suggestions?
