I would really like to see ultra-wideband (UWB) support in the smaller 'S' model. It would also be a significant improvement to upgrade the base model 'S' telephoto camera from 10 MP to at least 20 MP preferably 50MP. Such an upgrade would greatly enhance image quality, particularly for zoomed-in shots, making the device even more versatile for photography enthusiasts.

Finally Samsung gave us 12gb of ram on the base model. Don't know why they downgraded to 8gb to begin with.

Anonymous, 17 hours agoNot to defend Samsung but all of the devices you mentionned... moreAgreed.
I buy the vanilla galaxy phones because they're light and pocketable while still offering everything a heavy brick can in terms of performance. I noticed OneUI has great battery life once you've found a good version of it. I do not walk around with a powerbank and I never get anxious about getting through the day. I get almost 10h of screen on time with my S20 on OneUI 5.1 = excellent. That's an old battery too. (I'm ok with vanilla cameras.)
I'm curious about the S25 Slim.

SkiblaQ, 08 Jan 20254000 mah fr? In 2025🤦, Samsung is behind in the competition... moreNot to defend Samsung but all of the devices you mentionned are bigger some even much bigger. Base S series phones are meant to be smaller and light hence the "small" battery.
Instead what we should ask ourselves is where are the camera upgrades since the S22??? 10mp telephoto and 12mp ultrawide is such a shame wtf.

I am using Sony xz2 compact so far and considering options of upgrading phone now. But hell, it seems no real upgrade in Samsung basic s model even compared to s23, just a new CPU and a bit better display that is still so behind of what Chinese brands install even at 2023 year flagships (don't confuse with ultra model that got interesting anti-reflection one). So I'm going to wait their official announcement for real specs and cost, before buying OnePlus😔

Year 2025 and their base model still has 4000mAh and 6.2" screen, then they charge 200€ more for the plus model (which should have been the base model years ago). Samsung buyers = Apple buyers but for Android = 🤡

I think they purposely done this and the plus version. They are focusing on the slim version and make the ultra slimmer. They are invested on those 2 devices. Thats why the preview is not shown yet. Wouldn't be surprised if the vanilla and plus series go missing next year if the slim version is a hit.

4000 mah fr? In 2025🤦, Samsung is behind in the competition now, the likes of find x8, OnePlus 13 and and vivo x200 pro mini smokes the s25 and it's not even close.
I mean look at their displays and brightness too.

What's happen in the phone industry? Nothing new. We've been seeing the same phones for the last 5 years. No innovation. Nothing different. Just boring devices..
