I just switched from the S25+ to the S25 base model. Only reason was because of the size. If the base model had a least the same size battery as the plus then it's a win. And I know the cameras are the same from the 22 but what can you do. It's what the comapny sells and we keep buying. Either way in my opinion I really like the base model better.

      After many years never buy samsung I give it a try again. I’m so upset within hour, gaming juice is very short, camera extremely ordinary. Worst part is it charge slower than iPhone so I’m almost fall asleep while waiting for it to charge full before I hang out and playing game at cafe.

I would love to read that article. I own the S25 Plus and the S25 Ultra and they are great phones, but as a previous base model S24 user, I didn't get the S25 this year because they've been using the same camera system since the S22. And up until this year the RAM was either 6 or 8 GB, which for people who are not techies is fine, but for people who expect to get flagship specs for their money, it's a bit of a letdown. Don't get me wrong, I've been a Samsung shill since I switched from the iPhone 4s to the Samsung S5, but they really need to made bigger leaps this year.

            For example, upgrade the camera system on the base model, add the anti reflective screen that they use on the Ultra (Apple has done this on the base iPhone now) and offer higher storage options also, like a 512 Gb or 1TB option on the base model S26. Also, upgrading the battery tech would be nice so that they could fit a bigger battery. My 6.3" X200 Pro Mini has a 5700 mAh battery. There are many other things they could do, but those are things that would make me upgrade to the S26. So as a Samsung fan, my gripe isn't so much with the Plus or the Ultra (although the plus could use upgrades), as it is with the base model.

IP17 had to make big upgrades because it was 3 years behind to similar Androids. For example it just got 120Hz, while it was a standard for years even on mid range in Androids.

For example, they finally upgraded the RAM on this phone to 12GB, which is fine, except my S20 5G from 2020 had 12GB of RAM also, and expandable storage as well. The S26 series really needs to hit it out of the park, especially since the iPhone 17 made massive upgrades.

                  It can't compete with the Chinese, the battery should be 5000mah and the cameras should be more advanced. The only thing that is perfect is the size.

Yet I paid 1/3 price and well I don’t like 15 so not upgrading happy I get 7-8hr SOT ….samsung need to optimise OS like iOS to make it more battery efficient because these AI and extra bloat isn’t helping battery. No way I’d pay $1400 for this. When my S23 does as good a job . Plus my battery icon i can see %98 not a pill

                            Worst camera for this kind of * premium * mobile

                              The best compact phone right now is Samsung! I wanted to buy it but I didn't have the money. There was no other compact option at a mid-range price from Samsung with a 5.8 to 6.2 screen, so I had to buy from a Chinese brand.

                                    I have liked these Samsung phones a lot.

                                        GSM Arena telling me I should be disappointed by lack of major feature upgrades? Not buying it. Maybe if camera is super important to you yes, but if not, their complaints are all about bells and whistles, especially now the price is starting to move downward. The latest Qualcomm chip is apparently a wonder way beyond that used in the S24, plus, 50% more RAM -- justifies this effort and the flagship price IMO. (I just bought it yesterday so I cannot review performance yet.)
                                        Another happy moment happened when I discovered I can actually uninstall Sammy bloatware (!) I recall not being able to do that on S10e, Note 9 and previous models. This is my first phone purchase since 2018 so maybe i'm just behind the times.
                                        The thing to be pissed off about is region locking - although I can somewhat tolerate the business reasons behind it.
