Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim to only be sold in these countries

Last week a rumor claimed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim would "almost certainly not be offered through US carriers". And today a new rumor brings us the purported list of countries and regions where the S25 Slim will be available. It's not a short list, as it has 39 places on it, but it's very short compared to where Samsung will sell the other three members of the Galaxy S25 family.
So, if you've been eyeing the slimmer S25, here's where you'll be able to buy it: Afghanistan, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Croatia, Egypt, France, India, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Libya, Malaysia, Mexico, Montenegro, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, Türkiye, the UAE, the UK, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. Additionally, the region of Caucasus is mentioned.

That's it. As you can see, the US isn't on the list. So, if this is accurate, then it's not just that the S25 Slim won't be sold through carriers in the US, but it won't be sold there at all. Canada is also missing, as are China, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the list goes on and on. Not even Samsung's own home market of Korea is on the list.
This will be a limited release, it seems - geographically at least. Nowhere near as limited as that of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, but still limited. And we have no idea why Samsung would choose to do this. Perhaps its market research shows that only people in these countries and regions would actually buy the S25 Slim?
Anyway, the device may be showcased on January 22 at Samsung's upcoming Unpacked launch event alongside the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. That said, rumors have consistently told us that the Slim would become available later in the year than the other three. It's expected to be 6.4mm thick, which does make it the thinnest S25, but not by that much.

People would switch only if they care about it enough. That doesn't seem to be the case, because fewer and fewer phones are without microSD card support. I was always the type who didn't seem to care about it until they took the card away. ...
