Many persons think that the S5 no longer has a capacitive menu button (I also thought so too when I first saw a live demo display model in a store) but it's still there under the quiet. Simply hold down the multitask capacitive button until the menu pops up. Holding it down between 1.5 - 2 seconds shows the menu options. I realised this on the very first day that I used my brand new S5.

I love the galaxy s5. The possibilities seem endless. However, having been an I phone user since apple created the I phone, I've relied on the cloud and apple for backing up EVERYDAY including texts. This is a feature that IS NOT available with the galaxy s5. My disappointment also stems from having had this phone for months before the charger port became faulty. My provider being T-MOBILE does NOT repair, they replace. I'm pissed off

victory786, 07 Jan 2015Hello, I recently purchased Samsung S5 SM-G900F, it was ... moreAndroid is a very heavy O/S and has big requirements hardware wise and with big battery consumption.I am with all persons wanting a big battery because only then can we enjoy a full days heavy use.

These companys think we want slim phones but in reality an extra few millimetres and extra 1000mA of battery power is what persons want.

                  Hello,

I recently purchased Samsung S5 SM-G900F, it was having Kitkat 4.4.2.

I upgrade the version to Android v5.0 Lollipop from the following web site:

Its great phone with excellent 16 MP camera, but battery draining very fast due to having many of the unwanted applications installed.

                  Thanks

I have enjoyed this phone but cant wait for S6 .I hope it keeps home button which it should plus sd card slot and removeable battery.

Hoping for redesign, battery upgrade, plus all other goodies and lighter Touchwiz skin.

Okay, I this is it for me and samsung.

Very sad story for me. I got my samsung s5 phone the first week it launched on the Philippine market via Globe telecoms postpaid plan.
It was exciting. After a year of being a s4 user, I was happy with the battery life. The battery lasted an 2x longe than the s4.

Another exciting feature of the samsung s5 is the 1 meter 30 minutes water resistance. I was excited to try this out and had great success shooting pictures from our company outing.
It was awesome, I brought it in the beach, I have a dslr camera which I decided not to bring due to the salty water and the samsung s5 saved me the trouble. I was happy with my phone.
It was great that I can capture the moment and upload it immediately on my social media accounts. After this event, I always bring my samsung s5, taking shots in the pool, in the rain with confidence.

I have no complain on the software because it is android so I dont know if the problems were android or samsung, the updates were frequent and yes it make me happy that they are consistently trying to make the software better or so it seemed. But the phone hangs a lot even with a few applications running.
One of the frequent problem I get is the "Messenger stopped working". I have Skype and Facebook and Yahoo messenger and I am not sure which is causing the problem as the system hangs for a while and recovers eventually. I close the messengers and restarts the application and all goes back to normal.

The camera. Daylight, I find it great. Indoors I find it good.. Low light, well I think it sucks. After a few months of using the samsung s5. The camera started to fail. "Warning Camera Failed" message always pops up whenever I want to use the camera. I am a very busy guy,
so I dont really rely on the warranty and try to check first on the internet if there is a legit fix or a fix that will not void warranty. This went on for a while until I got really tired and sent it for warranty. After a few days of not having a phone, my samsung s5 is back and the warranty covered the camera replacement.
It was working again, the shots are still great, good and poor but atleast it works so that is okay for me and I was very pleased at the service I received.

December 14, 2014 the day after my wedding. My honeymoon. I was chilling with my family and wife by the pool, taking shots of my family and friends. Then I decided to take a dip in a 2 and a half feet pool with my 2 year old niece and take a shot of her tricks. Checked my samsung s5 pressing all the clip locks making sure it is good to go, opened the camera app and the battery low warning is up.
Jumped in the pool with the phone in my hand. I dipped my phone, wanting to test under water, it was like 6 inch deep in the pool and noticed that the screen is off. I thought I ran out of battery so I went back up and put it in my bag and continue to play with my niece. Then I get back to our room, wanting to charge my phone back to life when I noticed that the front camera was moist, and the back is moist too.
I immediately removed the back cover to remove the battery. Everyhing inside the rubber seal is dry. Outside the rubber seal there is the speaker, the camera which have very small droplets of water. I wiped it with a napkin to dry. The next day December 15, I decided to take it to the service center. And they said I need to leave it for them to check. I received a SMS today from the service center telling me that the warranty is void and the motherboard and LCD needs to be replaced.

My thought is that something leaked after the camera replacement repair but I am not an expert and I cannot prove it. My only grudge is that this was supposed to be water resistant, I explained the instance to the customer service and I don't see any ground for the warranty to get void.

So that's it for me and samsung.
