You will hardly notice the difference of the performance or never. Quad-Core CPU is more than enough for a smartphone. According to tech geeks, Mali-T628 MP6 is not good as Adreno 330 in gaming. However, the difference is not too much identical. I agree with darkgamer with this part "the s5 octa uses the t628mp6 and that is also below in performance compared to adreno 330."

Just wait for the Xperia Z3 with Snapdragon 805 CPU with Adreno 420 GPU. I hope it will outperform the Huawei Honor 6. The Xperia Z3 has to announce in this September.

Never buy this phone as when you travel overseas the network will be locked though you have purchased your phone unlocked and samsung cannot fix the problem as they don't know how to tackle with this issue.
Pathetic phone and service. Better buy an apple product which is almost @ same value.

Another thing is M8 is much more expensive than Honor 6.

Tcool, 01 Aug 2014I prefer Huawei Honor 6 than HTC M8. That phone has a Mali t628 mp4. That gpu is nowhere near to the adreno 330 in s5 or m8.

The s5 octa uses the t628mp6 and that is also below in performance compared to adreno 330 so the mp4 will have much lesser performance.

It seems like a decent phone but spec monsters aren't great phones. Let's wait for the reviews.

Tcool, 01 Aug 2014I prefer Huawei Honor 6 than HTC M8. Will look at this phone. I am kinda old school actually, still believe in brands and all, so don't really have much / any idea about Huawei. But they're making a big impression, so need to check it out seriously.

The sound quality was awesome (with my XBA-H1), that's quite expected though. Also, I had the Snapdragon version, the G900F, it doesn't have the Wolfson chip, so if you buy the G900H, the Indian Octa core version audio will be even better, but I guess you know that already.

If you're open to any size then yes, it's better to wait for Note 4. Note series are optimized better than S series, regardless of whatever people say, and the S-Pen related features are implemented really well. So if you're okay with Phablets then you could wait for Note 4, it's almost there, just wait out this month.

S6? Lol, it's almost 8/9 months to go for the next S flagship, so no choice really.

From other phones, I personally am waiting for the Z3 Compact obviously, let's see what Sony does there. And my primary target is S5 Google Play Edition, quite unbelievable it's still not released yet! I don't even look at most phones nowadays, because there are very few phones which can be operated with human hands any more, so M8, Z2, G3, those phones are nonexistent to me to be honest.

PS : As a current owner of Moto X, I'm also waiting to see what X+1 will bring. I'm a very happy owner after all, and after a horrible experience with S4 Exynos, this phone brought back life to me, even with it's below average camera and just fine display :)

AnonD-18602, 31 Jul 2014Thanks... But I heard GS5 is using new Exynos which is good... moreNo, the new Exynos is not something that it can change your view towards TouchWiz or S5 for that matter, nor I believe to optimize a framework (or Android skin) you need an insane CPU or GPU. It will only take effect when you are playing some graphically intensive games, or running benchmarks. Do you do those things often? Then you can go for the Exynos model. If gaming is a priority then I think Exynos model is actually better than the Snapdragon version. Can't really confirm, I never think about "gaming" when I purchase a phone, so you might wanna check with others.

Battery life was "excellent" for the short period of time I used it, the best backup I have got from any phone so far. I got 6+ hours of screen on time almost always, once it crossed 7 hours actually. Charging is fast too, should be done in 120 minutes from full drain to 100%.

S5 over G3 : For daylight images. For night time, no comments. They are almost identical IMHO, but for low light shots G3 will have the advantage.

S5 over G3 : If you plan to use the phone with hands, then S5 is noticeable smaller than the G3. However the curved back of the G3 is nice.

S5 over G3 : FAR better build quality.

S5 over G3 : IP67. If that matters to you though.

That's all. S5 runs of TouchWiz, G3 doesn't. However as I have never used any LG phones before won't comment on the performance of LG's UI, but if reviews are correct then it's a good UI, moreover nothing can be worse than TouchWiz.

I personally will pick the S5, as long as I get pure Android on it. I just don't get the fuss behind G3. QHD display? Really? How on earth can one notice any difference from a FHD to QHD display? As long as biology and human eyes exist it's meaningless. G3 is a good phone, but it's WAY over-hyped.

M8 : Brilliant phone, awesome construction. But you know 4 MP camera, well it's not just enough. Also metal chassis will degrade GPS signal reception (inside espeically). Otherwise, a good phone, Sense is fantastic.

If you can digest TouchWiz then definitely go for S5. If you can't, then out of G3 and M8, well I think I will go for M8.
