I personally think gs5 should have at least 3gb ram for all that bloatware they r putting in.

Anonymous, 17 May 2014What if he dont have internet connection or want to listen ... moreI Mention This before, What @Tcool Means is that People Buying $800 Smartphones. Can afford to have Regular Data Connection. So Why the need for a hardware Radio if you can have internet radio Local/international stations?

And this is not even an issue, if you want hardware Frequency radio Samsung S5 is not the phone for you, just get other samsung models with reasonable price or $20 China phones with radio.

Since purchasing I've had multiple issues with this phone:

                                1. When unit is in lock screen and I try to access phone, only the lighting pad wakes up but the screen stays black.

                                2. Freezes then turns off and on again.

                                3. Makes a strange bleeping noise when phone is on loud whilst using it however even whilst the screen is on and not being touched, I've gone through the settings and cannot find the cause to this mysterious noise.

                                4. Phone is in use until you click on an app (any app, even Samsung apps provided as default with the phone) and I will not be able to do anything with the phone until I hit the home button again to get out of it but then I'll open another app and same problem, phone needs to be restarted to function properly.

                                5. Scrolling between home screens sometimes gets stuck mid way and requires two swipes to change screen.

I've spoken with tech support and they clearly stated they believe something is wrong with the phone and it is most likely faulty. I've needed to do a factory reset but the above issues are still occuring. I will be contacting tech support again but if anyone else is experience these, your not alone. Call Samsung and get it looked into.

For your historical knowledge Touchwizz is an evolution of their previous in-house UI from old phones like S8000/S8300/Pixon etc and probably a bit older ones which i don't remember, maybe you weren't even born, who knows/cares.

Touchwizz, which isn't hogging phone ressources as so many bashers trying to make people believe, is so useful that it allowed me for example to remove many apps i was installing on my previous phones/other brands. It's the ONLY ui which does so much out of the box without needing to install crap/suspicious apps (asking weird permissions for just turning on the flash light for example..) and i think that's why their phones sell so well : good marketing and good possibilities without having to know apps or waste time searching on play store.

Touchwizz is not all about gestures/effects (many useful), it's also about options you don't get anywhere in most of other brands like :

pickup alert vibration, custom pattern per contact, custom SMS + ring tones per contact, call blocker, sms/spam blocker, blocking mode (or DND mode that Apple added after it appeared on S3), extended call info and options during call, messages scheduler, new message "delayer" to cancel a just wrongly sent message (clever and Apple wants to patent something like that), multi windows (that Apple will introduce in IOS8), extensive settings menus (there are no brand that i know of showing so many settings to play with), new floating shortcuts bar aka tool box, customisable parameters menu in S5 (you can hide sections, add your favorite parts to 1 single menu if you think it's THAT a mess). And there are many others all around the OS like that.

It's clear, you don't like it, many don't, but many do or don't even know they exist or realize that when they switch brand (i know some around me who went there).

For example, a girlfriend of mine with a Sony Xperia J was stupefied that she couldn't share over bluetooth a song she was listening to just because there was no option on her phone by default for that. She told me she had to use the file manager i had installed her once (because Sony doesn't even bother to preinstall one it seems).

By my own experience, i recon and maybe that's why Samsung stopped supporting international S3 (1gb ram), it was the only phone were touchwizz was too heavy, using too much ram and then phone too laggy for many operations. But S2 had a great touchwizz "light" on 4.1.2 final version, and S4 had no problem either.

Too bad that many people around here are commenting like kids without bringing anything interesting to the discussion.

For the few people who were questionning S5's speaker quality, i have been able to re-test side to side yesterday a S4 Advance with my S5 G900F with the (cool) group play feature :

It's pretty the same and i would say that S5's speaker is really a tiny bit better (more precise). But that's my ear. My friend doesn't have same ears and couldn't make a difference between both phones, being loudness and quality.
