I have my S5 G900f which is running kitkat 4.4.2
      It has a G900A bootloader , And a G900A baseband.
An AT&T CSC code, and Fingerprint build.
it even has the AT&T software update which Ban me from recieving any OTA update, i'm from morocco and i use it with my maroc telecom SIM card.
      but it's running a G900f firmware !
i even took the IMEI i get by dialing *#06# and put it in IMEI checker and it says it's a G900f !
do i have a refurbished phone or a firmware mixed one ?
now , i want to update it to marshmallow.
what model's firmware do you think i should be flashing to update it to marshmallow ?
      i'm still confused if i have a G900f or A G900A.

Hello to all of Galaxy S5 Users!!! :D

I have my Galaxy S5 in almost 3 years(April 2014 to be exact) ... I really love my phone :D :D :D . it didn't give me any trouble or something . It works perfectly !! . No performance and heating issues, long lasting battery, perfect camera and it's still WATERPROOF AMAZING !! :D

I have the Galaxy S5 with a model of SC-04F (from NTT DOCOMO) color white with an S-view Copper Gold, running on android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) . It has 32gb of internal memory, a fast charging capability and a wireless charging capability (besides power button there's a 2 gold holes)

This is regarding with the Marshmallow Update . I doubt with others complaining their S5 occuring issues after Marshmallow update . I have updated my S5 last Aug 2016 , after the update it's became laggy, I have read on the internet that I should do a reset after updating my phone . Then eventually, I follow the instructions , I backup-ed my data , go to Recovery Mode , wiping CACHE PARTITION and do a WIPE DATA/ FACTORY RESET it will stock on SAMSUNG LOGO about 5mins and it will boot up :)

Marshmallow Update is AWESOME !!! it will really improved your phone I swear :)
-Improved Camera especially Auto focus speed
        -Improved Icons and some interface
        -Improved Fingerprint scanner
-Improved the speed of browsing and loading
        -Improved battery life
(I like the improvements of camera, icon and fingerprint scanner :D)

I advised that all of Galaxy S5 users should update to MARSHMALLOW :D this review is for my beloved phone's birthday :D hehehe kinda weird . But i still have my Galaxy s3 for 5 years :D and still working fine with no issues , long battery life though :)

PS: I love the MINI ANIME CARTOON ASSISTANT floating on my S5 screen :D

Brandon_Less, 19 Mar 2017I've had questions since I purchased my s5 back in November... moreTo BRANDON_LESS:

Your S5 (SM-S903VL) is exclusive to straight talk and uses Verizon towers. It's said that only a few thousands of these were made for the provider. It's a rare model because you can't easily get the firmware/ROM from your average ROM site...in the event you would like to put a custom ROM on it. The specs are the same as the G900F (international/European version) as it uses the Snapdragon chipset rather than the Exynos chipset. Hope my advice helps.

James, 17 Mar 2017Ill Advised & Ripped Off After having my Samsung S5... moreTo JAMES:

I am very sorry to hear about all the ordeals that you have been through especially having your first S5 stolen. Did you try to track your original S5 with the assistance of your daugther or a friend as S5 have built in tracking features. I hope you tried to locate your stolen device. If not it's never too late.

On the issue of their supposedly customer care service, I don't wrong you, take legal action and get as much money out of them for your troubles and inconveniences of not having the phone...because even though it wasn't accepting SIM cards, you could at least least dial your local emergency numbers which doesn't require a SIM to be in the phone. Please keep me and the others posted as I would like to know the outcome of your very unfortunate situation. Take care my friend.

The last update I received for my S5 (February patch) was a cool one. It cleaned up my storage. Before the update, 7.60GB storage space was used up. After the update it went down from 7.60GB to 7.13GB. That's basically a 500MB trim. All of my personal files were still in tact so I have to commend Samsung for doing a wonderful job with these updates.

Each update seems to improve the device better whether it be in speed or more storage not to mention secure the device against the latest threats. It's a win win situation any way you look at it.

I have the S5 and I loved it at first. Then the trouble began. I have gotten a blue screen security error: this phone has been flashed with unauthorized software & is locked. Call your mobile operator for additional support. WTH.... I have only had this phone since January and I have had to have it fixed 4 times! Once with a completely download that was "supposed" to fix the problem. It is now completely useless! No more fixing! They are sending me a new phone! Anyone else have this problem?

                          Ill Advised & Ripped Off

After having my Samsung S5 stolen, My daughter very kindly bought me a replacement,
A Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900 Phone that was in perfect condition without a blemish on the handset and in immaculate condition
I have no money at the moment to buy another phone myself and this was a very kind and generous gesture of which I was and still am grateful for.
The Phone was not cheap and after unboxing the phone I found out that there was a problem with the handset.
I took the phone to a well-known phone shop as everything worked perfectly, But would not accept any sim cards from any network providers.
The shop checked the phone was not to;en or barred and the basics without voiding any possible warranty They also charged me £50.00 and told me to contact Samsung Repair service centre as they were very good and would help me with any issues that the phone had and they said they was very good with customers and they gave me their number
After contacting them I was advised that my handset would be collected by courier and returned to me as soon as possible.
I was advised to send everything with the phone as it would have to pass quality control.
I waited 4 days and contacted them and I was told the phone was out of warranty even though it looked like it had never been used before.
They told me that I would have to pay £63.30 As it was out of warranty and I paid the money so I could get the phone back as I needed my new bought phone as I am registered disabled which they were also made aware of.
I was told as long as there is no cosmetic damage to the phone, It would be fixed and sent back to me within 5 working days.
I after 11/12 days in total I contacted them and was told they were still working on my phone and to phone back Monday. when I phoned back they told me there is a problem with the circuit board and it was not worth them fixing? In total, they had my phone for 14 days
Samsung has not kept to the Agreement That they made me pay £63.00 for and I find it very frustrating and I am now very distressed over the whole issue and Problems they have caused me.
I have had to phone my Drsas this has made me very depressed and I do not think it is fair that they have gone back on the agreement they made with me maybe because I am of no importance to them
They told me they were going to refund my money and send the phone back
I explained what I had been told and asked what the problem was and what had caused it but they were reluctant to tell me.
I received my phone back which no longer works AT ALL it does not even switch on as it did before I sent it to them.
After being informed that my phone would be returned to me exactly how I had sent it to them, I expected it back the same as it was the repair center that told me this.
they have damaged the phone even more than it was so it no longer works at all
They also tell me they had to destroy the receipt I sent in with the phone for data protection
I have been waiting for 17 days to resolve this matter only to have a Person who told me that his manager was with him and it does say in the terms and conditions that they may send your phone back in this way. I HAVE NEVER been given OR had ANY TERMS a CONDITIONS Read to me.
I asked to speak to the MANAGER As he clarified he was not a Manager, He then told me that there were no Managers in Today after telling me he was sat next to 1.
I asked which was it to be either there was a Manager there or not and he said I was getting Confrontational and put the phone down on me
I have waited 4 Days to speak to a Manager about the whole situation and this is how I was treated. I will be seeking Legal advice now and if anyone else has had this problem I suggest they do the same.
I need a phone as I have serious falls and live alone,
There has been no Care or Professional Customer Sevice and I will be taking this matter all the way as I am not going to be lied to or ripped off and I will never buy another SAMSUNG Product,

S5 in ph doesn't have marshmallow upgrade. Take a look at you're csc code(country code). Globe Smart Sun XTC(openline) all of these dont have marshmallow update.

Btw I'm in Philippines too ... I have my Galaxy S5 3 years from now and its running good in Marshmallow :) You just need to factory reset and wipe cache when you update to marshmallow

It's funny how the basically three year old S5 features 4k 2160p video recording and it's just now most of the competition is catching up. For example, the Huawei P10 flagship which just got released in this month is the first in the P series line to have 4K video recording. It took Huawei three years to catch up Samsung in the video recording department. I have always said that the Galaxy S lead by example. The Galaxy S always contains more features than the average consumer needs which is a good thing anyway you look at it.
