I just received another update of 200+ mbs but no luck. Neither of sim or soft buttons start working. It have already selected auto network mode 4g/3g/2g (auto connect). I read somewhere on xda that it happened to alot of people. After an update soft buttons stopped working. and network problem too started after update. This was my last Samsung phone. Will never ever buy Samsung.

Network if not specify, the phone will not be able to connect calls.
There are some complain the same issue.
In the end, the Telco assist him to set the network mode.
The fact is that there are no indication, the "button" was not select in the network mode.
Even after he select the "auto connect", later, (restart) the all the "button" are not selected.

                Mobile data is different.
Telco can define what is your subscribe plan and VAS in their System.
I do have a mobile data only SIM card 3G.
Cannot make call (incoming & outgoing). For SMS, it is chargeable. Network set 3G.
Hence it may be the phone &or Telco fault.
Telco have to check in their System, and update to include Voice calls.
Most probably Telco will have to reset at their end.
                Everything will go tru Telco.
SIM card 15 - 18 digits are for specified purpose.
Each Country and Telco will have an unique digits, identify based on 1st 5 or more digits.
This is world wide id for country & telco, and SIM card IMEI is also unique.
If you have 2 different telco SIM card, just check on the 1st few digits.
In this way, if your go to any country, that country telco detect your SIM card info.
Then they will know which country & telco is, based on your SIM card.
That country telco will get info from your telco, about roaming, and any other setting.

No use to insert any SIM card if the mobile network is not mark.
Any valid SIM card upon insert and turn on the phone, it is auto download the APN setting.
                    Hence you can use internet.
If Network mode not selected, you cannot call.
Call & mobile data are both separate setting.

And ensure both Auto update and Wi-fi only are tick.
Please do beware, if you update the wrong software, your phone will go haywire and unable to control. This had happen to me as i did the update myself. In the end, i had to remove the battery, turn on, and quickly do factory reset. After factory reset, it is back to normal.

Pull out the battery for about 30 sec to a minute and then re-insert the battery and then power the phone back on.

As long as no buttons are stuck then the phone should boot right up and be ready to use again, if not then keep reading as the next troubleshooting tip is often something overlooked and can be just the answer you’re looking for.
