I have been using this phone for 5 years and it's pretty nice. When it comes to battery it really sucks plus the phone gets really hot. You can really feel the hotness without the case. Especially when I am playing games like Mobile Legends and other online games.

Battery is pure trash, I hate it. But otherwise it's a really good phone even to this day, the camera feels dated though.

Just had my battery replaced at the local official Samsung store in Korea. Cost around $US30 and took 10 minutes.
Battery no longer goes from 100% to 90% as soon as I disconnect the charger (and no longer goes from 15% to 1% in a few seconds). But still relatively short SOT, which is a tad frustrating (and one of the mistakes that Samsung made with the S6 and its small battery).
I asked the service rep if they could install a S7 Edge 3500mAh) battery instead (documented online). But the Note 7 fiasco is probably why they said they couldn't...

Unfortunately since yesterday it's not charging anymore with the cable, but I'm still able to charge it wirelessly. Thinking in replace it with the new Samsung S20+ hoping it'll go for 5 years also. Best phone I ever had, I'm kind of sad to replace it.

I bought this phone when released on April 15'. Surprisingly I am posting this comment from this very phone. Man its 5 years and still working. It's the 32gb version and it was always full of pictures and apps. Since I am quite sloppy it fell on the ground several times and once into the toilet. I used a hairdryer and ta dah... Still working. Last month battery life got too short and mow its rebooting every now and then. Trying to keep it alive till the Xiaomi mi10 released. But honestly guys, the fact that I used this phone so hard for five years making this phone my very best ever, no matter what I 'll have in the future.

A couple of years ago, I had this phone (upgrade from iPhone 5c) and only owned it for 9 months. It had a nice design, display and decent performance. However later on it got viruses with ads showing up "Go and *u** a Russian W****", and it was stuck on Android M. I got angry and switched to an iPhone 6s.

I don't think this device can support android 8 because it already got 2 software updates.

lol, the S6 is the reason I switched over to the iPhone.
The screen did look good and it was a good phone for web surfing and watching videos. The S6 was reliable 98% of the time but every once in a while it would freeze or lock-up.
On Black Friday 2016 my carrier had a great deal on the S6 so I got one for myself and one for my daughter.
The battery was atrocious. I never downloaded any apps or played any music because the battery life struggle to keep up with the basics. When I had a couple apps on the phone, the battery was lucky to make it through the day.
When my daughter's S6 hit the 23 month mark, the phone would randomly power off. So we traded her S6 in for an S8.
After 18 months the battery life on my S6 got worse than it already was. Once the phone hit the 23 month mark, I would have to charge the phone halfway through the day. At the 25 month mark it was almost unbearable. On the last day I had the phone, it was almost too hot to touch just from using a web-browser and the phone had lost 40% of it's battery life within an hour. I couldn't stand the s6 anymore so I went to my carrier and got an iPhone.
I had the s3, s4, and Note 3 and those were all good phones. My daughter has an S8 which she's had for over 2 years and she's happy with it. The S6 was clearly a bust by Samsung. I guess that's why my carrier practically gave me the phone.
