bob, 06 Mar 2015the good side on iphone 6 plus battery is when i go to bed ... moreI don't loose more than 5% overnight with my S5, LTE data always on. Before lollipop update, it was 2/3% per night.
I didn't use my phone much today, unpluggued it last night before going to bed so that it was 100% around 1AM i think, currently i have 72% : Did a few calls, sent/received a few whatsapp messages, showed a mate S6's official presentation on youtube. Made 2 videos and sent them on whatsapp then on my dropbox with LTE, checked my emails a quite few times and had bluetooth enabled for my Gear Fit. This is typical for a S5.

I used to be a Samsung fan, but no more. They are fond of abandoning their flagships when it comes to OS updates.

I was hoping for a metal back cuz I would totally rock the S6 with no case, but with a glass back I'm thinking I probably would need a case. Then again, the front glass isn't going to be covered so why bother covering the back? Tough choice for me.

It's all about wakelocks (see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827676)/ I wouldn't expect someone like you to be smart enough to go to Settings -> Battery and see what process is using way more battery than it should, but that is one thing you COULD do. This is a personal problem with however you're using the S5. It is NOT a good example of battery life that the device is capable of. The S5 can easily go 48 hours if you aren't playing games on it and if you don't screw it up however you screwed it up.

Glass back, like the iPhone 4S? Way to go, Sammy. I'll pass on the S6. The Note 4 is looking better and better, every time I read something about the S6.

bob , 05 Mar 2015in day to day usage there is a big diference then this tests And so protocols are needed to get a general idea of a device.
Because everyone has his/her ways, habits, apps, settings, network carrier, environment etc.. So what is true for somebody won't be for another.
Personaly, i don't use note series but as far as i know i've never obtained a better battery life on any smartphones i've owned than with my galaxy S5.
I don't know anyone close enough to me who got an iphone 6+ to compare in real life.
And just like you, not counting non-smartphones, but i'm close to 20 or 25 smartphones i have/owned (currently i have 8 left here).
