[deleted post]I hope it wasn't meant to be a smart comparisons of 2 different generations devices with 2 different soc's with oops, bummer, that tab from Samsung has a LCD screen...

It's no secret that Apple is both efficient for energy and power since they are designing both their OS and architectures. That's common knowledge.

yeah i said it, 11 Mar 2015I wouldn't say ditch , but you can have both iphone and Gal... moreI would obviously keep iphone 6 :)
But what I mean, should i spend my money on edge 6, when I already have iphone 6 and the Galaxy s4? I paid a lot of money on iPhone 6 and decided to keep Galaxy s4 for gaming because I enjoy playing gba and ds emulator games. But seeing the edge 6, im falling for the beautiful green design and the touch wiz looks more polished now and I love the multi window view. I want the 64gb since that is how much my iPhone has too, as I like to fill up my music. But those are expensive versions. My friends tell me that I'm getting carried away with it because I already got iphone 6, and a Galaxy s4 to make up for the lack of gaming on iPhone... But honestly everyone is buying this model based on the design these days. I've tried selling the Galaxy s4 in hope of earning some money for the edge 6 but I've only been able to get 130 dollars at most in offers. I do have money enough but just because I have it doesn't mean that I shouldn't think twice about it...

And they got amoled not ips.

And Samsung's got an option to save energy/screen and make the white of pages becoming grey.

-tab z4 with ips gives 17hours of video playback on 6000mah.
-galaxy tab pro10.1 with samoled gives 10 hours of video playback on a 8220mah battery.source-cnet.

Also I have been on play store and the battery didn't go down by much. So your points are invalid. I have used my phone on full brightness and for 2 hours of use only went down by 4-5%. So please trill more as all you said is invalid.

AnonD-359663, 11 Mar 2015As I did said before the screen on my galaxy s and s2 have ... moredo you know what is the color of the background when browsing or reading some book-most people keep it white.background of playstore is mostly white.etc etc etc amoled saves battery only when background is dark.at rest other times-particularly in white screen-all color subpixels light up to guzzle battery.in fact amoleds guzzle battery whenever the screen isnt black.and put on a white screen with letters like reading say a novel in daylight on full brightness-u will see how fast your battery drains.

ips panels on the other hand lose least charge when fully lit.ips use energy more to cover up the light when they go dark.
the whites on ips panels are natural and perfect.and the colors are realistic.

darkraver, 10 Mar 2015It is absolutely true OLED screens turn to shit in 3 years... moreAs I did said before the screen on my galaxy s and s2 have no such problems.

Amoled/oled screens use less power as they don't need backlight and produce natural colors, just to name few advantages over lcd.

m86k, 11 Mar 2015Easy, create a poll aimed at all amoled owners. Results ... moreuh huh.well you cant see the difference as your eyes get accustomed to the changed tint because you use it everyday-you will think its ok.but its not.its never the same.all those specs of accurate hues, gamma, etc all will not be accurate again.do get yourself a s6 and use it as your primary phone and do keep another superamoled screen phone as control(just buy the control phone and keep it-dont use it at all though)
pls compare the screen of your primary phone with the control phone after 1year.you will find the difference very starkly
..in short, what i want to be is informative-i donot deny that s6 is a great phone.i just want to show that the amoled screen you are going so gaga about is not as long lasting as you think.i dont understand why people today think that speaking a true fact is trolling.and regarding why its on s6 page-they think they are the trail blazers in oled display tech.so i found it apt to show that its indeed ips that lasts longer not oled..do google-amoled degradation.there are many people who use their phones for years-everyone does not want spend a fortune every year, isnt it?

Results will tell what percentage got degraded since 1st amoled phone got released.

Tech may have its low side, but still, a manufacturer like Samsung got the means and R&D to mass market it in a stable enough way or you would see mass returning of units to stores, etc. No need for science to see that.

in amoled screens-the blue sub pixels deteriorate faster than all other subpixels.the colors degrade in this order :blue, green,
and then red.even though pentile system is used in amoleds, yet it is only to reduce the size of blue subpixels that always tend to degrade faster.but still self degrade it does..reducing the size of blue subpixels only delays the inevitability. so eventhough you may not get a burn in -the amoleds tends to assume a very subtle yellowish tint after a year or so that only becomes more apparent with use..so even though practically you wont get a burn in-because most people dont keep a static image on their screen for long, amoleds will lose their accuracy of color reproduction after long use.this is the bare scientific fact- because the organic polymers in amoled had,has and will always degrade with us

just prove scientifically that organic polymers in amoled dont naturally degrade with time...

glass back and the metal design surely gives a luxury look and probably gorilla glass may not tend to break or scratch

Jesse, 10 Mar 2015Should I ditch my iPhone 6 for the Edge 6? Please, don't... moreI wouldn't say ditch , but you can have both iphone and Galaxy 6edge , first question how much storage internal memory your iphone has 16gb ,32gb, 64gb, because you already use to no SD card slot Removable battery, which is not a problem for me , am getting the Galaxy 6 edge 128gb . Second question do you like emerald green , there's no iphone with this color, and last question, do you feel like treating your to a new smartphone, since you still have your iphone, if yes then you deserve it to treat yourself, if you get one enjoy ,

Should I ditch my iPhone 6 for the Edge 6?

Please, don't say "yes" just because you hate iPhone. I've had them all. I've always switched phones each season. When a new samsung galaxy came out I would buy it, then 8-10 months and I would repeat the cycle for iPhone and Samsung again. i like the phones for different reasons. I use mac computers, so it's always just been easier for me to have everything me apple and that is why I always end up buying an iPhone... but the kid in me wants all the fun of the android, so, I always buy a new Galaxy phone every other year. I had the S2, the original Note and now I have the S4 which I bought in late 2013. I then bought the iphone 6 in september, and put my samsung aside.
Now, I'm tempted to upgrade my samsung s4 to edge 6, but am I being unpractical? To me it's purely because of the design + internal design. I just hate the feel and look of S4. I only use it (S4) currently to play emulator games. I could sell it, but I would only be able to earn 25% of its original price.. and the edge is almost twice the price of the S4. Should I still invest in the Edge 6, or is it a waste of money since I already got an iphone 6 as well?
