You got a point. But don't start me on TV's : you are remembering me that i sold my old Panasonic plasma to get a 4K Led which i don't really like when displaying dark scenes... (damn oled 4K still not available here). Oled screens rock.
I'm more towards the green emerald since a friend told me he wanted to purchase the gold one. I don't like having my close friends having same stuff as me :)
The other day, I was dreaming about a seamless black color for S6 Edge where you couldn't differentiate bezel from screen off/black screen, or hardly at least.. That would be a killer.

The screen is one of the most colour accurate screens on the planet. And with the crazy high pixels per inch, I am sure it will go bright enough in any condition to make the screen appear 'solid'.
I am confident that a nice shade/tone of green will be findable if you want the phone to appear seamless, screen to edge..
Myself, with OLED screens, I would always choose to go the darkest bezel available, because as a media player, a dark edge does not detract from the media content.
And, even though the large plasma TV in my house was researched for many moons, and selected for its ability to render colour correctly, even my daughter states how much better the Note Edge is in terms of colour when watching the same things.
(Yes I calibrate A/V equipment professionally, so the TV is just about as good as it gets!)
So whilst I would go dark bezel, everyone can just relax.. the screen will render some pretty perfect colour.
metalic surfaces that change colour, might be hard to match though!

You totally sum up what i was saying in S6 page, i think this was Samsung's goal while designing S6/S6 Edge and making them premium : seducing Apple owners. Because competition is getting to tight on "normal" flagships level.
For your Apple, you could keep it as a secondary phone for another sim.. or as a spare phone, just in case.

m86k, 05 Mar 2015I'm frankly hesitating like you. Dark is getting boring eve... moreI thought it was just me who thought the gold had a bit of silver-ness in certain lightening :D beautiful, right? Man it's so hard to decide. I cannot say anything bad about the gold, it's perfect.. but green has never been done before, and I feel like I could either love it or hate it. Much of it has to do with it is the dark green frame around the screen when i look at certain stuff like my homescreen and fear my wallpaper won't match unless it's b/w or green to match.. while every wallpaper will look amazing with the gold frame around the screen.

But i'm still divided between the magic gold platinum and the gorgeous green emerald. So i guess pre-ordering option will help me for choosing at the last moment. (hopefully soon!)
I haven't been so excited in a phone release since maybe Galaxy S3 or S4.
Once people will start seeing edge around in real life, many will change their mind.

I think people prefer some other colors than white probably because the colored one look more like hand-crafted items while white one looks like it is going to get dirty very easily...
