wanting to upgrade s7 I have had since September but every phone that comes out is no better. New phones offer no better battery better camera and video recording in Nightclubs has been 9/10 with this I have tried a few other even iphone7,sony xz1 compact but S7 still does stunning job 2 years on. If it had replaceable battery would order one and keep this but battery is getting bit worse and I know it.
So nothing has really come along better but obviously next year this battery will be shot.I can rarely find phones shooting in nightclub videos microphones most buckle under club bass. I wish GSMArena went too bass heavy club to test microphones in video recording.
Iphone, Sony and recent Samsung not bad but what about Huawei,Nokias new ones motoroloas and so on. Moto/Nokia doing stock android but no good to me if mikes are rubbish .

Now mine is dead just used it for 1yr and 11 months. Not used heavily because I am not a gamer. Dropped it in some times but not that hard. And now I am so happy with my huawei p20 lite. I can really compare the difference in performance.

May be you and I and few others love our s7 but the fact is Samsung already have our money and they are not gaining anything now unless you upgrade. If everything is super prompt you are not going to buy the latest and greatest phone every year, will you?? The hardware s7 has will last for another 2 year with ease and Samsung knows that. So they are tempting people to get their newest phone nothing else. Plus they have limited engineers and developers assigned to this 2yr old flagship than newer ones which enjoys highest priority. Just wait for some time because that is the last update anyway.

If you want latest and greatest go fo... moreI completely agree with the fact that samsung has a large portfolio but shouldn't Samsung prioritize S7 because it was once a flagship? I guess it should... It effects their image as a brand, I mean flagships are meant to have everything latest, then why not the andriod version? And its been a fair amount of time too, sony, moto and even chinese manufacturers like oneplus and huawei got their phones updated to oreo long ago... Then why not Samsung?
I want the oreo update just because there are some features like applock etc that are coming with the experience 9, once experience 9 arrives I'll be able to uninstall a lot of apps, because the UI would have the features integrated...

For gaming like ppspp s7 is better that note 5. Im still waiting for oreo update. For net speed, get Korean variant.5G (LTE) is pure.

As much as I love samsung for their hardware I hate them for their software... And the slow update part is a BIG disappointment...

And secondly Samsung has a much much larger portfolio than Google pixel, Sony, moto etc. That's why wait should be long. Thirdly Samsung ui is very complex and heavy integrating all these features without bugs takes time. To be honest apart from Samsung experience 9 nothing groundbraking is coming to s7. So it doesn't matter that much atleast to me.

Means, they have the update ready... I don't know what's the problem to roll it out... Earlier it could be considered that Samsung's recent flagship had not got the update, so did the S7, but as of now every flagship including the note 7 FE had got the update, now what's the problem in releasing the update?

Anonymous, 12 May 2018Guys, is s7 good for heavy gaming?Yes. I'm a gamer. Every game runs smooth on this phone with less heating. Battery on full charge will give you 3-4 hours of gaming on screen time. S7 has a flagship processor from 2016, both Exynos and Snapdragon variant, are more than capable enough to run latest games.
