Just like American car companies, phone makers (even Apple really) want you to get the next new thing, so they intentionally make the old models go obsolete. The solution is to vote with your wallet as you have done, and Samsung will learn the lesson. Blackberry could also earn business users like you their respect by going back to what they did best which was business focused hardware with a reliable OS and support.

I'm one of many users that believe on Samsung devices. but of late I have been asking myself why I'm I buying these devices. I recently switched a company of 1000 users from Samsung Tablets and Phones for apple products. The main reason is your after purchase support is horrible. I'm not talking about screen cracks or warrant repairs. I'm talking about software support. I have used all the Samsung Galaxy devices from S1 to S7, on top of that I had all the Notes devices expect Note 7 for obvious reasons; but for all the Samsung devices I have own none of them have received software update to the latest version of Android. I don't expect Samsung to update S1 to Nougat, but S6, S7 , Note 4, Note 5 the hardware is capable of running Android 7.0 My S7 is still running 6.0.1 with December 2016 Android patch level. These days android is releasing patches to the operating system on monthly bases. When are we going to get Jan 2017 patch, Feb 2017 patch and now March patch; leave alone the 7.0 update?
I wonder would I really recommend the business to buy S8 or S8+, knowing that the device will never get the latest software update? or I rather tell them to go with the products from the other manufacturers.
These patches are essential to ensuring that the users information is secure and not venerable to attacks and yet we are sitting with 3 months old patches.
It's really disappointing when you hear other devices are getting the updates and us with S7's we are sitting with the three year old OS.
Will the S8 and S8+ get Android O, or you will have to buy the new device to get that software update.

Just had a full hands on with a black S8+ (Pi 99 37 00 30 15 01) and silver S8 (Pi 99 12 50 78 82 03) in a UK store.
Immediate comments:
1. When the guy gave me the S8+, I thought it was the S8, it is that narrow!
2. Am a lifelong gadget guy, the S8/S8+ in black are THE most beautiful and futuristic electronic devices I have ever seen or operated. No unsightly antenna lines, smooth transition from the screen to the rear glass - just lovely, as you will soon experience yourself.
3. I played some 4K YouTube videos, and set it to expand to full screen, the display even with rounded corners is outstanding. Looks like a glossy photo!
4. 'TouchWhiz' is very cool looking, blends in with the design of the phone. And VERY fast.
5. The new haptic on screen Home button is very clever. Even when the controls are not visible, if you hold down where the home button would be on the screen, the icon appears and it performs a Home action. Nicely done and what I assumed Apple were going to do.
I'm a Note person (got a Note 5 - Pi 99 04 00 08 53 89) but wow, difficult not to be tempted, but will wait for Note 8 and hope they retain the gorgeous looks of the S8 series!
For those Apple fans who say that Samsung copied the all black look, no they didn't the Nexus Galaxy and Nexus 4 (LG) both removed the branding and features seamless designs. I owned both. Antenna lines on the iPhone 6/7 ruin the whole experience.
Wonderful device, be interested to see how sales go, but my guess is that the S8 is going to be huge with non Apple fans and maybe even some Apple fans who are too impatient.

The latest Sony camera sensor is exclusive for own brand, Sony won't help the competitors but will help Xperia because it is Ownership!

I don't understand why they have only 2 colours for selling in Roumania!? Black and Orchid Grey. Even with pre order I can't choose Grey.

Naah, I'm staying with my HTC M8 - there is no point in upgrading, all games run smooth etc. Maybe next year...

There is not significant change to spend $800 or more for s8 from s7 edge. For me s7 edge still a formidable phone with even bigger battery than any of these latest phones from samsung...

Can't believe people are silly enough to pay THIS much for...a PHONE.
Stylish, sleek = more money.
Every year manufacturers come out with new phones, with faster processors (not needed), more vivid displays (not needed), smaller batteries (really not needed!!), different colors (which get covered by a case) and HIGHER PRICES.
Just about every consumer electronic device, DROPS in price, and gets better.
PC's, laptops, DVD players, Big screen tv's. But, smartphones increase EACH
new model. Why? Because for some reason uninformed consumers think they have
to buy a new one every 12-18 months.

Should I upgrade to the s8 if I have a note 4 or wait, or wait for note 8? Is the s8 plus worth the size increase over the s8.
