I thought S8 will be bluetooth 5.0 certified since it will be equipped with sd835. Guess hoarding all sd835 isn't really worth it after all. Good thing S8 has aptX support for wireless/lossless audio, though not the newer aptX HD maybe suffice. Maybe I'll stick with LG for now.

Sscc, 28 Jan 2017Where's home button? Samsung PayThere is no home button, and the fingerprint sensor is rumored to be on the back this time. We will learn probably more in the coming month.

4GB of RAM !!! are you kidding me ..
it should be 8GB of RAM minimum.
The battery capacity also is to low.
                    DISAPPOINTED.

alpha , 13 Jan 2017Oh why samsung doesnt make the s8 has 2160p×3840 ? H... moreA real 4K screen is costly from a developer point of view because all of the drawable assets within the app apk's need to be rewritten to support this monsterous density resolution combination. It's the main reason why manufactures are hesitant on shipping devices with these densities and resolutions. I'd like to see them myself but as a developer know it's going to hurt a lot from a user perspective as many of the apps you'd install would look jacked due to the uber high density and resolution such a device would have. Apps are to a degree coded to adjust but not to this level yet. In fact we could all be waiting a very long time for something like this, not to mention these densities and resolutions chew battery at a massive factor over devices running lower.

If Samsung wants my money this year on this device they are very close to having it. The only thing they need for me to pull my wallet out on this one is to ship another version of this with 8Gb of RAM. There is a inherent bug in Android since Jellybean where if a user like myself has many open or parked apps in memory running, when the phone reaches 45% battery life the CPU/GPU within the SOC is throttled down according to the battery saving value in some cases can be as low as 200Mhz. To compensate for this to keep the phone core apps from lagging or stuttering the higher amount of RAM is needed to keep apps in cache. This is the single greatest gripe I have with all smartphones is LAG or STUTTER I hate it and will not buy another one until an OEM doubles the RAM for the virtual machine. I despise others who say this much RAM is overkill and those who say such things don't understand the inner workings of the Android OS at a developer level and I'm an OS and App developer who knows more RAM is the quick easy fix. Aside from quick and easy fixes OEM's have ignored the call from a massive number of users who penalized their hardware for such poor user experiences and there after blame these lag experiences on the OEM hardware manufacture. which in turn hurts their full sales potential. Every smartphone which has ever achieved a super high user rating in the past regardless of it's manufacture did so because of the phone smoothness and speed at which is could execute a task the user initiated. The biggest thing in life for smartphone sales above every other gripe we could have is it MUST NOT LAG OR STUTTER. The easiest way to solve LAG for the most part is to add more RAM. We must have it for this reason only until Google figures out a way to build Android to use RAM to the degree Apple iPhone's do on less RAM. Also I could do without the curves, they can reserve that feature for those who like the Edge, I'd prefer this one in standard form factor like the normal S7 just keep the large screen size of 6.x"

Indeed I feel too excited about this gadget (phablet). It is in the design I have being advocating for for over a year. I am so excited. No space wasted at the front of the phone. Big screen small body. This can be in the same body size as in mate 9 which has 5'9 of screen. but this screen is 6'2. Is it not amazing. It can even have the same body dimensions of iPhone 7 plus but much bigger screen. I am loving Samsung more again. I wait to see how exciting it will be to watch videos on such phone.
