I'm using this phone since may 2019.

Camera is great. I was investigating and making pictures with S8 vs Huawei P20 Pro, and results was: daylight S8 is far better, but night pictures Huawei slammed. Also speed of procesors was almost the same, and it is important to say that P20 Pro have much better procesor on the paper. S8 is having wirelles charge, P20 Pro does not. P20 Pro is having 128GB memory, S8 64GB, but with option to upgrade through SD card. P20 Pro is killing with battery, with hard use, at the end of the day, it will be 30% left to use. S8 can hold on for one day, but with some corrections through the day. Gaming is same level, no big differences.
My personal opinion, S8 is my phone, and this screen is worth money, sh.it, I will take my eyes close on bad battery and 4GB RAM.

    According to SamMobile:

    "The Galaxy S8 series was launched in early 2017 with Android 7.0, and over the years, the smartphones have received two major Android OS updates: Android 8.0 and Android 9.0 (with One UI). Right now, the phones are on a quarterly update schedule, but Samsung could soon move them to a biannual update schedule since it has been more than four years since their launch."

    Does this mean Samsung have changed their software update policies for their flagship devices? It looks like Galaxy S8 will become the first flagship device to receive 5 years of security updates instead of 4 years.

        Been using mine since 2017 only issue is that the camera had to be replaced.

          The phone that made me stay away from Samsung. Don't get me wrong, it was a good phone with stunning display, good camera (there was no night mode if i remember correctly but the night time photography quality still puts some recent phones to shame), good gaming performance as well. However, all of the goodness were destroyed by its' battery. It's not a phone for a heavy user.

                Hey guys , I am a big fan of apple , but I wanted a change so I opted S8 , BUT SERIOUSLY I AM LOVING THIS PHONE ALOT .. Very smooth and clear, , I am using this handset for past 2.5 years ... masterpiece from samsung

                    i brought this phone almost 2.5years ago, but it is still very nice on looks, and running smoothly. its battery backup is also nice. Everything is nice for this phone.

                          Almost 4 years used this phone...never change battery...but its still good and reliable...battery not last like it was in the 1st year.but when it still can last till night for normal use like fb twitter WhatsApp ig....for my kind usage still can last for 12 hours at least..

What a masterpiece of a phone was. What a pity. Last month I bought the moto g9 power as a backup phone. I still use the s8 on a regular basis, but it is simply crippled. Not only the battery is degraded, and the cpu limiter is needed. Everything crashes and freezes.
                                      I have a theory that android 8 is getting old and samsung experience is NO longer COMPATIBLE with the third party apps AND first party samsung apps. I recommed updating your phone to the latest patches. In case it still crashes and lags, guess it's time to get another phone.

It consumes... moreYou either have an app consuming your battery or the battery needs to be recalibrated. To recalibrate you simply let the battery drain completely until it powers down on its own. Then Plug it in and allow it to charge to 100% without turning it on. That should fix your battery issue but just to be safe id do what i said above twice.
