2.5 years usage, now charging port not working, need to change battery too. also samsung stopped software support. better buy new phone or repair this ??

Anonymous, 12 Apr 2021What phone is with those specs and made the year the S8 was... moreThere're several options in 2017 you can choose beside from the S8, Xiaomi Mi5S Plus for example, bigger battery (and better battery life too because i have tested it and compared between those two) and quite similarly powered chipset but the downside was the camera and screen which wasn't super amoled like S8 (which was fairly common for midrange phones at 2017 as super amoled screen was still pretty expensive back then).

Hi there, i have a Galaxy A51 (6gb of RAM and 128 gb of storage), i had the phone for over a year and i just discovered that i have strange stains (dots) on the back that don't seem to go. I tried cleaning the phone and everything but they don't seem to go. And what's strange about it is that when i buyed my phone i always use the back cover to protect it from these kinds of things. Any ideas about the stains?

Have mine since May 18th of 2017, will soon have it 4 years.
Always been a great phone but for a heavy user I never really had enough battery. Always carried a powerbank just to be safe.
After all these years the battery has gotten so poor. I start recording (4k) for 1 minute when I have 15% battery left, stop at 12% and when I put it down and check back 5 minutes later I was surprised that it was out of battery :( Had to record the crazy cats with my mothers phone instead. Lovely device but I'm looking to upgrade and maybe replace the battery in this one to keep as a backup. Only used a case for the 1st year but been naked ever after. Dropped couple times but no real damage. Oleophobic coating is completely gone so it's a smudgy looking phone now but got no significant burn in after all these years (only visible on a full grey screen).

I compared battery life of s8 with LG g6 128gb.both on Android 8. When not used LG g6 battery will dry up slower than S8 but when in use g6 battery would dry up faster than S8. I am still using S8 with Android 8 coz if u put in android 9 u can't use 2sims (dual or fd model only) plus SD card due to 2019 security patch. So with lots of efforts I fould S8 having android 8.and I m using 2sims with 128 gb SD card using Sim extender. It's still an excellent fone just now planning to upgrade to Android 10 or 11 using custom rom with which I continue using 2 Sims and sd card. Bros please suggest bugs free CUSTOM ROM FOR S8 FD Model. Regards.
