I still have the s8 in late 2021 on a xda rom. From using this site to compare at specs and performance for new phones i still cant justify upgrading unless i want to spend +$1000. Its funny that most "budget" phones including the new Samsung A-series phones are still slower than the s8, a 5yr old phone! Its the perfect size, the screen looks amazing, it does not run hot and ive replaced the battery so i get very good battery life.

After my daughter had the s8 for two years I inherited it. This was, by this time, a virtual wreck, totally cracked AMOLED showing the dreaded white screen of death! Not too be downhearted I set about buying the parts to renovate the phone. I wouldn't say it was cost effective to do it my way, but it was most satisfying to see the look on my daughter's face when she saw it ! For those who are prepared to have a go there are plenty of sites on iTunes too show you how!

could the volume down button be stuck because of a case or something like that? If not, check if you've downloaded any apps that have something to do with your phone's volume (e.g. Sound Assistant). I'd recommend checking out "Safe mode" by long pressing the power off button in the power menu to see if the issue persits. Hope your problem gets fixed:)

I bought the S8 in the moment it went on sale, then bought the S9 plus and now I have the S20 Ultra. I still own all of them and I am writing this on the S8: excellent phone and very updated on the hardware and software side (sadly Samsung could update it it least for Android 10 with the latest updates, the hardware is note than capable).
Excellent screen, excellent camera, excellent software (still use DeX on vacations) and I notice no issues whatsoever. Of course on heavy apps or websites, the speed difference from the S20 ultra is clear, but I will keep this S8 for many years (needs a new battery perhaps). If I lost the S20 Ultra, apart the camera and screen size, I wouldn't notice much of a difference...

Fawad, 11 May 2021no need to replace charging port, use wireless charger instead :)I have to remove phone from case every time I charge to use wireless charging. Also, after thinking alot I bought F62, which has reverse charging and with this s8 is charging, but not with charger or laptop. I tried with different USB cables also. I don't know what's going on

This is a great phone and it's paid off! The problem is the mobile hotspot feature on Verizon. On 5/7 the mobile hotspot worked; on 5/13 there was a software update. On 5/17 the hotspot no longer worked and I get an error message that I need to subscribe to the hotspot feature. 5 chats/calls to tech support and no resolution, they have no idea why. The hotspot feature works on other phones on my plan and if I put my sim in another device. Don't want to get rid of the phone but I do want the hotspot to work when I need it.

I am happy with my S8 everything good no complaints. Remember all phones will come to an end of their life cycle.
