I bought the S8 in the moment it went on sale, then bought the S9 plus and now I have the S20 Ultra. I still own all of them and I am writing this on the S8: excellent phone and very updated on the hardware and software side (sadly Samsung could update it it least for Android 10 with the latest updates, the hardware is note than capable).
Excellent screen, excellent camera, excellent software (still use DeX on vacations) and I notice no issues whatsoever. Of course on heavy apps or websites, the speed difference from the S20 ultra is clear, but I will keep this S8 for many years (needs a new battery perhaps). If I lost the S20 Ultra, apart the camera and screen size, I wouldn't notice much of a difference...

Fawad, 11 May 2021no need to replace charging port, use wireless charger instead :)I have to remove phone from case every time I charge to use wireless charging. Also, after thinking alot I bought F62, which has reverse charging and with this s8 is charging, but not with charger or laptop. I tried with different USB cables also. I don't know what's going on

This is a great phone and it's paid off! The problem is the mobile hotspot feature on Verizon. On 5/7 the mobile hotspot worked; on 5/13 there was a software update. On 5/17 the hotspot no longer worked and I get an error message that I need to subscribe to the hotspot feature. 5 chats/calls to tech support and no resolution, they have no idea why. The hotspot feature works on other phones on my plan and if I put my sim in another device. Don't want to get rid of the phone but I do want the hotspot to work when I need it.

I am happy with my S8 everything good no complaints. Remember all phones will come to an end of their life cycle.

Just because this phone isn't getting updates anymore doesn't mean it's bad or something
My S8 is still on Android 7 because i never updated it and there's nothing wrong with it at all. Updates only really matter if there's some kind of problem that needs to be fixed and as far as i can remember the S8 never had any
Only thing that sucks is that once the updating stops you won't get the cool new features they might add
