      Hamed sterling, 15 Dec 2020Is samsung s8 a water proof phone?No.

But it is water resistant and has an international standard IP68 rating, which means the phone should withstand being placed into water up to a depth of 1.5 metres for a period of 30 minutes.

Its still going to cost you a lot to replace an OLED screen on a phone with a IP68 rating. I would strongly advise you to look at the price of repair if that's the deal breaker for you. I would also suggest getting a good quality case/screen protector perhaps even a folio e.g Otterbox Strada

I bought the phone for $320 and broke the screen. I checked for a replacement and it costs over $200.
I thought i was being scammed but its the same everywhere. Does Samsung not want you to repair your phone? Everytime you break one do they want you to buy a new one? Because it sure looks to me that way. My best option now is to look for a used S8 with a screen that's not broken and switch it.

It might be difficult for you to understand this ..... but identifying a relatively small number of S8s with issues in comparison to the many, many millions of units sold does not paint a true picture. It's a distortion of reality.

No hate to any Samsung fans or people who like modern phone designs out there but the designer of this phone should be fired for introducing this design and started this bezel-less display trend which is very incapable of multimedia consumption and too tall and skinny with bad economics. Now all modern phones lack the bold personality they used to have in their front designs.

OK, so you claim that you saw one with a burn in issue....even if correct, there is no justification to imply that this is the norm.

Had S8 Plus since launch and I have no burn in issues. I highly suspect that, i, like the majority of other users have had no issues too

Prove otherwise, and how does it compare to similar phones with a screen of such high spec?
