Anonymous, 27 Dec 2020I haven't experienced burn in either, that's why ... moreYou should perhaps practice what you preach to be fair and you may not come across as a bit of a hypocrite. But I take your comments on board.

Moving on ... yeah it would be an exaggeration to say that burn in issues are as common as implied. I too have had no issues with burn in on the S8 Plus (after 3 years) and previously the S6. To see a few posts or watch a few videos of owners that have had issues and then to assume that this is as common as implied would be a distortion of the truth.

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2020I hate to break it to you but this is a Galaxy S8 opinions ... moreI haven't experienced burn in either, that's why I don't engage with people like that. You shouldn't either because you will look equally ridiculous. If you hadn't acted the same as he did, I wouldn't have commented "both of you".

I think the popularity of OLED should be telling how far the technology has come. No need to "disprove" claims violently.

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2020You are most definitely 12 or below because you are arguing... moreI hate to break it to you but this is a Galaxy S8 opinions page where people come to express opinions and debate and discuss. Can I also point out that the S8 is still used by many people today. So to come here and discuss anything in relation to the Galaxy seems logical and does not mean that you are 12 years old or have "some serious mental issues" I would think quite the opposite in fact.

      To summarise :

I believed that the original poster implied that burn in issues on the S8 were the norm and people should avoid the S8 because of its an 'Achilles heel' of the S8. I disputed this. That's all.

I asked for proof and I never denied that the S8 could suffer from burn in but I pointed out that because you see a relatively small number of videos on YouTube compared to the vast majority of numbers sold (over 40 million) This is not proof that a vast majority of S8 owners will suffer as was suggested.

That's all that's happened here. A debate/discussion, agreements and disagreements on an opinions page about the Samsung Galaxy S8. A phone that is still used today.

So what's your contribution to the discussion. You have contributed nothing. So far it seems to me that you just throw insults. To sit in judgement of people.

Do you have anything else to offer?

Anonymous, 25 Dec 2020Come back when you turn 20, so in 8 years. You are simply highlighting your own immaturity with these comments.

Says it all really. You should take a wee chill pill, relax, lighten up and grow up. If you want to debate/discuss the S8 then hey, I'm open to you but if all you can do is resort to insults then I have better things to do with my time than to engage with you.

So let me make it clear to you, the S and Note series all using the SAME screen amoled technology.and that very SAME technology has the SAME inherent problem which is the very SAME risk of burn in.
that's why there are some apps that are developed to lower the burn in screen risk
( i.e ambient mode, immersive mode, dark mode etc)

which are used by newer phone that's why the number of "victim" of burn in in S8 lower than previous generation amoled phone.

but it does not mean the burn in risk does not exist anymore because like I said it is inherent problem of amoled, That's why I post my opinion for everyone that using amoled phone to learn why it happen and how to avoid it. I am here to give suggestion for longer usage of amoled screen and you gave those nasty word :smh.

And ofcourse I know the S8 sold with good number, I own one and I can say it's a solid phone.but still people need to know how to use their phone for longer purpose. believing blindly to "manufacturer who main purpose to sold more and the more frequently sell things better will gain more profit" is DUMB.

I am getting out of here, do as you wish. I have done my part to educate as a fellow owner of S8, You sir just continue defend this manufacturer blindly as you want like I care :smh

                            Hamed sterling, 15 Dec 2020Is samsung s8 a water proof phone?No.

But it is water resistant and has an international standard IP68 rating, which means the phone should withstand being placed into water up to a depth of 1.5 metres for a period of 30 minutes.

Michael, 13 Dec 2020I bought the phone for $320 and broke the screen. I checked... moreA S8 screen replacement costs over £200 in the UK to replace at an official Samsung repair centre. Its still going to cost you a lot to replace an OLED screen on a phone with a IP68 rating. I would strongly advise you to look at the price of repair if that's the deal breaker for you. I would also suggest getting a good quality case/screen protector perhaps even a folio e.g Otterbox Strada

I thought i was being scammed but its the same everywhere. Does Samsung not want you to repair your phone? Everytime you break one do they want you to buy a new one? Because it sure looks to me that way. My best option now is to look for a used S8 with a screen that's not broken and switch it.
