No hate to any Samsung fans or people who like modern phone designs out there but the designer of this phone should be fired for introducing this design and started this bezel-less display trend which is very incapable of multimedia consumption and too tall and skinny with bad economics. Now all modern phones lack the bold personality they used to have in their front designs.

Had S8 Plus since launch and I have no burn in issues. I highly suspect that, i, like the majority of other users have had no issues too
Prove otherwise, and how does it compare to similar phones with a screen of such high spec?
'Achilles heel' indeed.......huh!

This or iPhone 7? Battery doesn't matter since I don't use my phone much outside. I like the design of the S8 but there's just something about the iPhone user experience, it's reliable and smooth. Androids get buggy over time so I wanna know if that is the case with the S8.

These are brilliant phones. First a few complaints:
The Bixby button is a pain in the ass. I wish Samsung would just turn it into a programmable user button. But instead they force Bixby on the user which is an absolute nuisance.
There was a point where I was getting hounded with Samsung notifications. Samsung this/that whatever. It turned out Samsung somehow created an account without me realising. I don't want a Samsung account. I promptly disabled it.
These phones would have been great if they worked on battery life. I had a Sony Xperia Z in the past which put Samsung battery life to shame.
Now for the good:
Samsung have the best screens on the market. I got a newer pixel 5 which in my honesty, was a downgrade from my S8. Samsung have superior graphics performance and superior video performance.
Any phone made with a metal frame is going to be far stronger than a plastic phone. I have had an LG and Google Pixel 5 both easily broken due to terrible quality materials. I am proud that Samsung made these phones to be reasonably tough from the get go. Don’t expect an otter box or life proof case to do all the heavy work. I found my S8 to be reasonably tough but I still highly recommend a good quality phone cover.
The edgeless screen is a pain without a phone cover. It more or less forces you to buy a phone cover.
I LOVE the fact that Samsung had the guts to keep the 3.5mm jack with the S8. I tried the stupid USB-C to 3.5mm jack and found they destroy audio quality. I highly recommend any phone with a 3.5mm from a quality standpoint let alone practicality.
These phones are USB-C which is good for new USB-C fast chargers. I tried a new USB-C charger and it reduces charge time significantly from an old USB charger.
These have a good menu system that put Pixel 5 to shame. On the Pixel 5 I couldn’t organise apps into folders for whatever reason. What the hell was Google thinking?
Overall, the S8 was a brilliant phone and still puts newer phones to shame.

I wish Sammy made more phones like this.
Not too big, not too small, no stupid notch or punch hole AND most importantly it has a headphone jack (that for some reason is almost extinct today), all this combined with good specs.
The only issue with this phone is the weird placement of the scanner on the back and the bixby button.
Put the scanner on the front, remove the bixby button and you got a perfect phone

K, 21 Nov 2020When it says non removable, can you still open the back? It's a pain to remove the back. I did it in 2h on S8, 2h on an S9 and cracked another S9's glass because I was impatient. Applied 200°C of heat and it still wouldn't lift.
They do everything to block repairs and new Samsung phones can't even get the screens replaced without reprogramming the chip.

K, 21 Nov 2020When it says non removable, can you still open the back?yes, you can still open the back. But its not easy, you need to remove the glue that holds the glass back and the panel.

The battery isn't the best but it charges really fast so doesn't really matter. Sure it may be over 3 years old but it's way better than any other phone Samsung has to offer and cheaper than the newer S and Note phones that cost a fortune. The S8 will for sure give us atleast 2 years of good use.

Might sound surprising, but I ordered this phone in October 2020. I was told by my friend that S series are sleek and look stylish and also have curved glass. I went to a samsung store near my place and after hearing the price of S10, I purchased Samsung M01 and returned. :D. But couldnt remove S series from thoughts and started searching for S Series mobiles on Google. I was looking for S series mobiles with low price range. And after continuous search I saw this Samsung S8 mobile burgundy red color and cost was around 33K. I was so very interested that, I forgot the basic sense that purchasing this 2018 release at this price is a foolishness. But i didnt have a choice, mainly because of the size of the phone. 5.8inches is still worth in 2020 especially because of the size. When i first received this phone, it was consuming battery like anything., I was disappointed with the performance. But later i googled youtube and online and started battery saver options. And it was better. I dont really do gaming or watch movies on mobile cause my main purpose is mails and calls. Even now i use my phone is optimized mode due to which the calendar doesnt sync. But thats fine. I am not a huge fan of syncing calendar. After the pie latest update in November, I feel the battery is little better but still continue using in optimized battery save mode. It serves my purpose. I am sure S10 and other new models have a better battery backup. The fast charing option or the normal charging option doesnt really have major difference. The normal charging also charges pretty quick. Also, I use dual sim. And i have tested in S5 that if you are using single sim the battery performs better and if you are using dual sim there is some pressure on the battery. More than personal calls I receive lot of office calls. So the secondary number is on full use. In 2020 it doesnt make sense using a second phone for second number, unless you have 4 sims to handle :). It also came with Dual messenger option. I never use Bixby button so its kind of dead button for me. The camers is really good at this price range. I was told that this November patch would be last update for S8 so not sure, how long it will support me. But so far I am happy but would not say extremely happy.

Using this phone since April 2017, still going good, just had to replace the charging base once, as it was giving problems and was not fast charing, luckly it was still under warranty, and Samsung replaced it with an hour, other then that no issues what so ever :)
