7 years later still holding up strong a bit laggy never had to replace battery screen never cracked good phone

still alive after 6 yrs, replaced battery twice already.. 3 yrs ago i accidental dropped it in a swimming pool and water came inside its broken and cant turned on, I brought it to samsung service center but they are charging me around $400 hahaha, so i decided to go home and put it inside a container of raw rice, after 3 days it turned on and 101% working with no sign of internal damages

When I picked up the Samsung S8 I was running from a rough phone management scam with the Motorola which I figured out it was the charger I was using so I went ahead to buy their fast charger that was direct to wall and not peripheral based which made a huge difference. For an old phone my Samsung surprisingly caught up with everyday tasks but the battery life definitely took a hit. For those who do phone repairs maybe increasing the capacity will help Samsung resell these old models because its just software that its lacking. Apple doesn't tie their phone models to software and I think thats the advantage they've had. Samsung and other manufacturers seem to just focus on whats out there without preparing for longevity. Some message boards are still filled with people waiting for a push of the latest software. Android Pie was stable for daily phone calls and texts but for video and extended use you did feel the heat and perhaps maybe the materials are to blame for that. Sterling silver sure does get hot without adequate breathing space maybe if companies still want to go with the slim design please consider using faux but sturdy heat dissipating materials. Virtual memory makes this phone the MacBook of Samsungs cause you will still be able to play a current golf game for like an hour plus which is impressive considering its age. A bigger capacity battery or even bigger case will decently make it a favorite because of the standby time and many features that extend battery life in emergency situations. A word of advice leave finger print on as its a sure way to get back into your phone should the screen be damaged for any reason. Cant wait till Samsung starts selling you an extra screen that just pops back in like an accessory.

this over Galaxy A8 (2018) and A13 5G? for 60 USD? heck yeah. I'd totally say it's worth the money.

Im still using this Device. Its amazing. Runs pretty smooth. Im using it as my main phone. For people who want to use it as daily driver: only 3 hs on screen time (QHD+, syn mc off, no power saver, autobrighness). And it goes up to 4:30hs if you put power saving and use hd+ screen resolution. It could last from the morning to the end lf the day if you dont use it a lot.

Pls I'm using a Tecno pop 5P and I'm planning to upgrade like I'm planning to get this Samsung S8.
But I want to know since it's last update is Android 9 does 2024 Applications and Games still run on this phone. The battery won't be an issue cuz I already have a 40000 MAH power bank.
