Get the S8 if the free Gear VR with the remote control and 256gb micro-sd is included. That will make it worthwhile.
I thought the Gear VR was terrible and it still is. Mostly a novelty like Nintendo Wii motion controls. But I was watching p0rn last night inside a VR theater and it was pretty cool. There were different choices like home, movie, ant, or moon theater.
Going to bring my Gear VR today while I chill inside my car waiting for DoorDash orders. Planning to use my S7 edge to download the The Walking Dead Season 7 finale on Piratebay and use the headset to watch it. I sometimes usually chill out in a Best Buy parking lot which makes me check out the Galaxy S8 if I wanted to.
Again, I simply prefer Pixel as my daily driver. It might be ugly, but like an og Nokia 3310 or Nintendo Game Boy, it gets the job done. I don't need "sexy". I don't plan to make love to my phones or marry it like some trophy wife. For a third wheel, I like the S7e for water-resistance and occasional VR theater watching. And the S7e definitely has the best battery life for playing or streaming videos over my other two.
Don't hate the S8 too much yet once you try VR p0rn. Stuff like the laggy software skin where my SwiftKey lags too, the awkward fingerprint scanner placement, and no double tap to all goes away once you start imagining you are inside some theater watching naked people on the screen.
Always download the latest Oculus app version. Use TubeMate and Flud (or uTorrent) to download as much video content as you want. Download this app called VR Theater as well. Then under My Videos in the Samsung VR app, play it. I was shocked how clear my 720p MP4 was playing on it especially the ones downloaded from TubeMate like Michael Fisher (Mr. Mobile) phone reviews in 720p.
VR might be a distracting gimmick but it actually helps me focus watching the huge backlog of movies and TV series I haven't seen yet. So don't hate the S8 thanks to VR theater viewing and VR p0rn entertainment!
Samsung, I hate your lag but starting to like your Gear VR.

4gb RAM is not at all sufficient in overall and cant cope up with the S8 powerful processor I guess. Asus has already came up with 8gb RAM device but why not Samsung?. Price of almost 750$ with just 4gb ram hurting Samsung loyalists. I will wait for Samsung Note 8 with 6 - 8 gb RAM.

Samsung already achieved their thinnest phone 2 years ago with Galaxy A8 5.9mm thickness and their Galaxy Tab S2 5.6mm thickness. Samsung havent break their own record since then. Adding to that, Galaxy A8 actually fit 3050mah in such a thin 5.9mm body. So, thickness is not an excuse they couldnt put a bigger battery.

Yes the battery capacity is related to size and weight, but the main culprit is thickness. Apple can afford a small battery, because their OS is locked and do not have multitasking, so their phones consumes in an optimized matter, this allows them to have smaller battery capacity and they translated that to thinner body. Unfortunately whatever Apple does, right or wrong becomes the trend everybody must follow and so did Samsung, they reduced battery capacity in order to reach the iphones 7mm thickness. They invented a lot of excuses to cover up for the resulting loss of battery performance and it kind of worked for women, who care more of the looks and prestige, rather than practicality, the male users though backfired and hence the S6 had the worst sales of the series, despite the all new marvelous look. With S7 edge, they hit the sweet spot, around 8mm feels, looks and is premium enough and can host a big enough battery to make the day, even for power users. Then the bezel war begun, which is esp important as the sizes have grown so much and the secret here lies at maintaining the 7,2cm wideness, so that it can be operated by one hand and reduce lateral sides to minimum and upper bezel as much as you can, this leaves even less room for the battery, yes the added height helps, a lot, but it barely compensates for the smaller overall space the minimum bezels demand. And after the Note 7 fiasko, they decided to let extra free space for the battery to breathe, so they couldnt get a bigger battery. The onky solution was to add 0.2 extra mm os thickness, then they could easily fit an extra 200-300mah on the S8 and S8+ and we wouldnt complain, but their obsession of having Apple like thickness, took the better of them and this is the reason why i wont downgrade from the S7 edge to S8...

guys lets step aside from salesman who are trying to make s8 look like not a good upgrade or lack behind competition we are the consumer should appreciate what samsung brings to technology and how a great design they did and they and their contribution to make better phones and more complete phone ..

beautiful design (i think the best i saw till now ) and better screen to body ratio 83% the best right now and they make it practical easy to hold (not like xiaomi mi mix)

best chepst till now no company uses snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895
same camera but still one of the best
samsung dex ,samsung bixby maybe no one will use it but still an option
and it almost a complete android device in 2017
so if you can't aford it still there another options like samsung s7 or another company what ever you like but dont say bad not true things because you hate samsung or because you are fan of other company .
