guys lets step aside from salesman who are trying to make s8 look like not a good upgrade or lack behind competition we are the consumer should appreciate what samsung brings to technology and how a great design they did and they and their contribution to make better phones and more complete phone ..
upgrade from s7
beautiful design (i think the best i saw till now ) and better screen to body ratio 83% the best right now and they make it practical easy to hold (not like xiaomi mi mix)
iris sensor
stereo speaker
best chepst till now no company uses snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895
same camera but still one of the best
samsung dex ,samsung bixby maybe no one will use it but still an option
and it almost a complete android device in 2017
so if you can't aford it still there another options like samsung s7 or another company what ever you like but dont say bad not true things because you hate samsung or because you are fan of other company .

Dont get triggered or anything. They could had put bigger one like in the Note7. Note7 had 3500mah battery in a body just 5mm taller than S8 and it exploded. It was designed aggresively by Samsung.
I noticed they put 4000mah battery on Galaxy A9 2016 and C9 Pro. Both are over 161mm tall. S8 is only 148mm tall. So, you can pretty much imagine the battery limit size relative to its body size - for Samsung at least. Oneplus 3 which is slightly bigger than S8 also sport a 3000mah battery too. Though, I find it odd how Oneplus update the Oneplus 3T with 3400mah battery without increasing the weight of the phone. LG G6 relatively the same size as S8 have 3300mah battery. 2800mah in LG G5 saved by its removability. We can continue to argue battery size with the XZ Premium which is bigger than Oneplus 3T but with mere 3230mah battery. To be honest, major brand rarely or never had any flagship with over 4000mah battery.
So, in the end there is no right answer with battery size. Whatever the reason, however they did it, it simply their decision. We all can say they could had done better but seriously, what do we know about manufacturing good battery. Its not like you or me could make a better smartphone with gigantic battery to satisfied everyone.

It looks like the camera is identical to the Samsung S7. Also does not support 4k60fps and stabilize video at 60fps above FULLHD ... pity.

S series mistake still the same. Display will colour change cpu suddenly overheat. Battery after use sometime will drop very fast. I am already going to give up

Still lots of questions:
Will the Galileo gnss work in Europe with the new exynos?
Does the new display have the improved RGB format that was rumored to get?
The HDR is just HDR 10, like the G6, or HDR 1000?
Will the S8 catch the make or break 75h battery performance landmark?
Is the MHL support locked again, or not? Since it has dex integration.

Usually people complain that they all look the same but you are complaining that it looks different from previous galaxy !!
As for the battery, have you used s7 and s7edge? Cuz with the new chipset the battery will still be the same regardless of the screen size. s8 will be same as s7 and s8+ will be same same as s7e. The new chipset is 10nm i.e. more power efficient. And if you get exynos version it is even more effiecient than sd835

Stop trolling brothey completely change the design, S8 doesn't look from S series ;) like apple iPhone have similar look every year they changing a bit the things which are not visible that much antenna line at the back or something... camera is on same place, home button this year is not the same as 6s and every iPhone model but it is on SAME place which is one of the simple things what they must follow for their series models. Sony as well, Sony devices are not the premium design phones but they are following each other. Samsung put battery of 3000mAh on display of 5.8", galaxy S series for me finished last year...
