Realistic1, 06 Sep 2018I am just saying that something with such a high price tag ... moreI hear you and I'm not knocking you for not liking something, we are all different I completely get that. Fair play. It's all about opinions and preference that's was never the issue.

It's just that many of the things that you are saying about the phone I just don't recognise and you bought (I would assume after at least a little bit of research? E.g looking at reviews, handling the phone beforehand, did you just pick the phone without knowing nothing about it?

I will just list a few things I have an issue with as regards to your criticism and hey, feel free to tell me if you don't think I have a point.

Ok, you were going on about screen protectors and how they don't fit, well to be fair that's not Samsung's fault, it's surely the fault of whoever manufactures screen protectors?

The same you brought up folio cases, I'd say is that Samsung's fault? No!

The fingerprint sensor position, surely you knew where it's position was? Where did you think it was? And the phone has multiple ways to unlock the phone, surely that's a good thing, no? Look at the IPhone X it doesn't even have that capability, and it's compromise at the end of the day, the IPhone X had to cut a whopping big chunk out of the screen to accommodate the face recognition for example, the S8 has almost edge to edge screen, and as you have admitted you really like the screen, so would you of preferred Samsung to cut out a notch for a fingerprint scanner?

You have listed 'faulty camera' the phone does NOT have a faulty camera but when you say 'faulty camera' then that would imply that all S8's have a faulty camera, that that's the way it's meant to be and that's not true. It's false information as far as I'm concerned.

Bixby? You may not like Bixby and to tell you the truth I just don't use it, but the button can be disabled and it's an additional feature, you can take it or leave it, you are not forced, but once again just a miniscule amount of research would of told you that the phone had Bixby and it was a major driver behind the marketing campaign. Tv ads the lot.

Heating of the phone, well once again I never have an issue with the phone overheating, wait, ok i tell a lie, granted it's got pretty warm when using VR for a while but hey it uses a lot of resources, I'd be amazed if no other phone didn't get warm playing or doing something that pushes its capabilities to the limit, but this phone has a high benchmark when compared to similiar devices, if your phone is overheating with 'normal.use' then that is not right, that shouldn't happen, and if you are getting issues when using a particular app, then has it ever crossed your mind that it could be the app?

Stereo Speakers, well surely you knew it didn't have stereo speakers, surely you at least had some idea of what you were buying, I don't see any reason to moan about that.after buying it, if you want stereo speakers then simply buy a phone with stereo speakers,

Anyway I will stop now, I think I have given you a wee idea as to why I thought you were not being balanced and fair to the phone.

By the way, really appreciate that you did reply and in the way you replied. Respect :)

Cherry, 02 Sep 2018I would like to buy the headphones that come with this phon... moreMy only advise to you is watch out for fakes if you have your heart set on buying the headset that came with the S8's, it's just that there are plenty of fakes on the market and I've seen that people have been caught out.

I don't know if you are aware but if you are looking to replace a set that you already purchased with the S8 due to.a fault then they are covered by the warranty, it's a shorter warranty though (only 6 months,.may be different in your country) I had a replacement set sent out, just called up Samsung told and I didn't even need to send the faulty ones back, just told them there was a problem and they were posted through my letterbox within days.

scorpio, 06 Sep 2018Thanks for all that. I'm left to wonder whether the problem... moreCould be, but if you look at the article that I posted the link to, it pre-dates Oreo,.It's from November 2017 and if the problem was fixed by tapping the lens then that to me would not point to a software issue. I'm just saying, would hate that it if your phone had developed perhaps an intermittent problem and it works well for you for the remainder of your warranty period then bang it comes back.

But hey I could be barking up the wrong tree. Can't say I've had same issue with the battery but you are perhaps far more observant than me.

This phone make me to say: "I hate my phone!"
You know that guys that says: I love my phone. No, I hate it.
It comes back from service after 2 weeks due to all sensors broken problem(one oft the 4 common problems for this phone). They replaced mainboard, display and battery(kit) LOL
Hate it, do not trust it at all for durability, it will get broken again when I will need it more like last time. I want too sell it but I would get around 350-400$ for it and I bought it new less than one year ago for 700$...
Anyway, I will not buy a Samsung again ever in my life. This company does not care about quality. But is my fault, after Note 7 episode I still bought a Samsung...

., 06 Sep 2018Yeah, it must of been a faulty phone. I see that you have a... moreI am just saying that something with such a high price tag should not have this many issues.
There are some good things about phone:
                      Looks beautiful
                      Has awesome screen

I might sound harsh but it's sad to pay 800 Euros for something and then fall victim of design flaws.
                      1. Bixby
                      2. Fingerprint scanner location
                      3. Faulty camera
                      4. Heating of the phone
                      5. No stereo
Then, poor software optimization which caused battery drain, lagging and phone would occassionally freeeze. I overall had bad experience with this phone, which doesn't have to mean someone else won't enjoy it. I just can't reccomend it as a good buy.

I personnaly don't feel that your constant bashing of the phone is fair, you just have to do a bit of research to see that the phone was launched with high critical claim. And to say phone like that shouldn't even make it to a store at a first place I also think that that's a bit harsh too and you are a naive if you believe that the S8 is the only phone that has developed a fault for the minority of users that purchase the phone. I think if you take of the blinkers and dare to look to see if your beloved IPhone SE is blemish free then you may then understand why I think your comments are harsh and quite frankly prejudiced.

Had a wee look on gsmarena and they actually highlighted the issue if you didn't know. You would think it was a hardware issue if you have to physically tap the lens in order for it to work.
