According to SamMobile:
"The two smartphones had recently received the April 2021 security patch. They will likely receive their next security update in July or August 2021 and they will be moved to a biannual update schedule next year."
Does that mean S9/S9+ will be the first flagship phone to receive 5 years of security updates? Looks like Samsung is changing it's software support policies again which is good since most budget and midrange phones are already getting 4 years of security updates. BRAVO SAMSUNG!

Samsung has downgraded S9 and S9+, both devices will only receive quarterly security updates from now on: https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-s9-drops-from-monthly-to-quarterly-update-schedule/?utm_source=pushbird

I had the Galaxy S1, the S3 , the S5, and rhe S7 over the years, and each of them was better than the last. I thought nothing of initiating a 24 month contract for the S9 as my confidence in the brand was backed by years of positive experience.
I've spent two years hating this phone almost as much as I hate the iPhone. Poorest battery life in the family, packed with bloatware and obligatory spam, possessing an inconveniently placed button that cannot be dosabled or re-mapped but which interrupts anything you happen to be doing to force the god-awful Bixby spambot on you at the slightest touch, massive updates seemingly every other week that introduce more spam and bugs, and despite never having so much as cracked a screen in my life, this p.o.s shatters if you so much as look at it too hard!
The S9 is not just a bad phone- it's vile, and it has changed my view of the brand forever.
It's the last Samsung phone I think I'll ever own.

Pane Trajkov, 01 Mar 2021Do you recommend this phone in 2021? What about this ph... moreI can say, yes, if you don't mind about the battery and Android version. S9 still offering superb display, great camera spec, and good at handling apps. But the battery are disaster (mine at least 2-3x charging a day with casual use) and stuck in Android 10 (don't worry about security update). Mine the camera always sturgling while capturing details such as cat fur, it looks smeared and soft, but I think it's all about the camera software, Samsung need fix it immediately.

Pane Trajkov, 01 Mar 2021Do you recommend this phone in 2021? What about this ph... moreIf you are just comparing this S9 with that two phones, this S9 is recommended for sure. Personally, I care about the camera, rather than the battery. We've got powerbank if we drain it quickly but we've not got any help if our photos are bad because of the camera.

Pane Trajkov, 01 Mar 2021Do you recommend this phone in 2021? What about this ph... moreIt is certainly going to perform better in the areas on screen quality and multimedia but it has a very bad battery life, I had it for 1 whole year and the only thing I hated was the battery life. I would not recommend it 10/10.

I have a Samsung S9 (AT&T) which was bought in the United States, and it was delivered here to the Philippines. Apparently, I can't update the software to Android 10/One UI 2.5, it said that I'm running the latest software which it obviously isn't. I'm stuck in Android 9/One UI 1. Can anyone help?
