AOD is a defense mechanism against screen flickering. Although the greeny virus will still live in the phone. Half bread is better than none. 😁

Make sure not to saturate it's RAM with a lot of open APPs running as well as those that are running in the background, close them all, and specially when you are not using the phone for long periods of time, i.e. when you are asleep. You will also prolong the life of the battery as well.
Just some tips of many other 'tweaks' that the majority of users are not aware of.
Still using mine, and works flawlessly, perhaps a little slower than before, but it's not the same when device was operating with Android 8 or 9.

It's one of the worst phone ever by Samsung. It lags every now and then and can't run apps smoothly. Camera is also below average!

Its a powerful small phone. camera is good and i love the selective focus feature of the camera. i have used mine since 2019 and still love it.
mine is a dual sim and so i cant install an SD card. battery life has deteriorated over the years, but i still love it.

I am from Pakistan i purchased it in 2021 and it is still a good phone in 2022 with S.amoled display fast speed and a great recognization of face/iris ...its also contains an average battery time but there is a slightly heat issue on charging but my opinion is that you can easily go for it in 2022

Had the phone for 3 1/5 years, it was good while it lasted. At one point phone stopped accepting charge using the cable (a friend of mine said some of the s9 had a software/hardware issue where the phone thinks the port has humidity). Using wirless charging, but only charges once in a while not consistent. Battery life last one whole day although I'm not a power user and dont play mobile games.

Been using since 2018, 4 long years and no problem!
Only thing is battery life that I started to notice during 4th year of using it, cant go on nature trails using location without portable battery. And in winter 0 C -10 C drains 100% to 20% in an hour but its after 4 years and during first 3 years no such issues

After using it for three years I can say that this is super good phone. I haven't had any issues with it since I got it. At third year of ownership the battery started to drain faster and dropping percents (ex. from 30% to 5%) only in cold weather conditions below 0°C, later replaced and than battery good again.
Pros:
-regular updates received till this year 2022, living in EU, Android 10,
-cameras better than most of newer phones, night mod 10x better than xiaomi's 2020 phone, thested myself,
-phone power, can run new apps even if it is from 2018 year,
-elegant design, curved display edge I like it,
-enough RAM, app switching no problem,
-super amoled display is very crisp and sharp..
Cons:
--apps getting bigger and bigger so newer apps consume alot of space, so 64 GB are nearly full for standard user (no games),
-using mobile data and GPS along with google maps, generates alot of heat, especially at direct sun at high summer temperature. This is the reason number one of battery degradation. Mine gets very very hot,, I'm not sure is there any sort of thermal protection to turn phone off. Disabling automatic display backlight and lowering backlight, makes less phone heat.
Need to mention that I have used only S series of Samsung Galaxy for last nearly 10 years, never used A,M,J,C class or other so I cannot compare batteries and other hardware stuff, but have written my own opinion and impression of this device.
