You get a 16:9 aspect ratio instead a your 4:3 , faster cpu performance, latest OS, HDR plus 1080p video, better cameras, faster dual wifi.
It's only been 2 years from yours, I think they've made good progressive improvements that is sufficient.
I own the 2016 7.0 tab a so i won't be upgrading any time soon.
When my tablet becomes dated , I''ll upgrade to the latest ,cheapest and smallest Tab A.

Stupid samsung! My Tab A 8.0 (2015) have the same spec with this, different just battery size 4200 up to 5000mah and the flash only. What a joke!

come on samsung 16gb storage is a shame to tablets these days i have a 7" outdated tablet of stone-age with 720p resolution here at the end of 2017 latest samsung 8" using the same.................is it really you samsung ??

I've had the Tab A 2015 version, but have upgraded to the Tab s3, but I gotta say, without fast charging and more RAM this thing's gonna heat up within a year. Nice touch with the new Samsung Experience though.

You are right you can get better for the same spec. But some people will buy Samsung because they trust the brand.
