visited all markets and checked Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6. everywhere it is stuck on KitKat. That's why I did not buy. KitKat is very veryyyyyyyyyyyy old. poor tablet

      Just got mine today and it on 4.4.4 KitKat too. Says its updated when do software update. This is letting it down.

            Tablet is good but android Kitkat is not good. KitKat is too old software. At least it should run Lollipop. Sony and Lenovo is better than Samsung.

                Not a good product. I checked in the many markets, this tablet is still running KitKat 4.4.4. KitKat is very old. I will never buy.

                    I've had mine since last Xmas and it is running 6.01...no problems at all...just wish it was MHL compatible, cannot seem to be able to hook it up to hdmi

                      i bought mine 2 weeks ago. was worried about the android 4.4.4 not upgradeing but mine upgraded up to marshmellow 6.1 right away. love this device .very pleased.

                        You look at a spec sheet saying it is lollipop and you say it's kitkat? It is really runningAndroid Lollipop.

                            I loved it until it shut down/froze while it still had charge.. and now it won't even charge. Also heated up to the point where I couldn't touch it. I shouldn't have to pry open a device to fix it. I didn't pay to play operation on an electronic device. If that's my sollution I am not interested. Tried everything else I read about and nada. Tablet seems to be fried and I haven't even had it for a year. Bs

You should look for Sony and Huawei. Sony and Huawei provide better services than Samsung.

Camera quality is the worst. WiFi connectivity is not good. can't do multi tasking. I would prefer Huawei or Sony. Stay away from Samsung.

I like the way it functions. The screen size is nice n big. Great WiFi connectivity and u can use the app 'SideSync'to connect it with ur phone. It's on sale right now for $169 at best buy and samsung.com. hope this helps.
