Real question...why did they switch from Qualcomm to mediatek? can someone tell me if this is a good decision or not from a performance standpoint? and would they also do this with phones (i assume it would happen to eu models)

The Dimensity 9300 chipset was released in November 2023.
The Dimensity 9300+ has four Cortex X4 units. While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has one Cortex X4 unit.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is in the S24 Ultra. And that cellphone was released in January 2024.
If the Tab S10 tablets were going to be released in 2025, alongside the S25 cellphones, then I would have expected it to have a Dimensity 9400 chipset. Which would be equivalent to the next Qualcomm Snapdragon or whatever they decide to call it.

Zak3, 04 Oct 2024There was no 9400 at the moment of its production thoughThat’s not an excuse..even those cheap Chinese brands will have the latest chipset..Qualcomm or mediatek..you can delay your software like Apple with the new camera button which is not actually functional for A.I purposes now..hardware comes first software fallows..you don’t wanna be paying a 2024 product with a 2023 chipset right ?

Is it worth upgrading from tab S8+ to S 10 ultra, S8+ works well, upgrades come regularly, the biggest problem I see is the battery which is not compatible with the SD 888 g 1, which is nothing special only if I put the battery in "savings" and then it limits a lot of things, advice.

Hopicus, 04 Oct 2024Lol charging this huge battery with only 45w charger.Actually it has same battery capacity with S8 Ultra and S8 Ultra gets fully charged in 70-80 mins with 45W charger which is fast enough for 11200 mAh battery.

When you expect to have a Snapdragon XElite grade SoC on an android tablet to go head on head with the M4 iPad and you get this... just like how apple's iPad OS keeps the M4 SoC a waste, Samsung makes android/OneUI as good as windows and then run it underpowered with bad hardware decisions like this.

What the hell, Samsung is doing!!! integrating cheap Chinese crappy Mediatek processors into premium and high-end tablets!!! Have you lost your senses?? I am a great Samsung enthusiast, in terms of its mobile devices. Now I have to think about it. Its a great fall of Samsung, I must say .........

14 inches is huge for a tablet, and for that price you might as well just buy a laptop with touch screen.
