From a 2016 model this tablet hasn't skip a beat good for watching movies at bedtime. I passed it down to my 5 year old kid who loves watching YouTube then the battery failed tried to charge it fully but Samsung logo keeps restarting. I looked for a battery luckily a found one at 10 bucks and had to pry tge back cover to replace the battery. Now works like new again minor dents and some battle scars. But the tablet is working fine.
I wish samsung release a newer version of the tablet

Hello Samsung, we need upgrade os... 7 is so old

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 users in Latin America have received surprise updates in November 2020. Users from Australia, China and Singapore also received OTA updates in December 2020. No new features are added to these devices, security patch level is not updated too but Samsung did manage to fix critical bugs to prevent hackers from exploiting these devices.

Well done Samsung for updating 5 year old devices! 👏👏👍👍👍

I cannot get wifi ac speeds more than 200 Mbps on Asus rt-ac66u and Tp-Link C9. It's like it only knows to connect to wifi N , so I only get wifi AC 400 Mbps with my phones, my Tab S4, laptop. The specs say that is is compatible with AC wireless, but no...

I really like that one. I had it since 2016. Recently, my tab was fall down to floor and i can't read anything on my display because my screen is black. There is a Samsung repair service in my country. They said there is a problem on my lcd screen and asking me to pay

The only other 8" that can (could) hang with this tablet was an ASUS Zen Pad. Better specs, great display. I had my stolen, I REALLY miss that tablet. They do not make the model I had. It was 3 GB memory. 64GB storage, display right there with Samsung. Even had a proprietary pen!

Help... Suddenly my tab S2 screen is blank, no output at all from lcd. I thought the battery is low. But when I plugin charge cable, button back and menu light up and vibrate a little bit.

So does this mean, the battery and engine still ok! But the screen dead?

Joe, 28 Jun 2020Have had one of these since it first came out in the summer... moreImho, I don't think Lenovo M8 can match S2's performance. If Samsung can upgrade S2 to Android 10, this will still be a beast.
Very few decent 8 inch tablet nowadays, Xiaomi mi pad 4 or Huawei M5/M6 8 inch to name a few. But those don't have updates too especially Huawei.

I've had one of these since it was released in 2015 and I'm yet to find a better replacement. 8 inch 4:3 screen is the optimum in my opinion and on top of that it's AMOLED with 323ppi which even the latest Samsung tablets are inferior to. There is simply nothing made in the last 5 years to beat it.
Downsides are the microUSB charging port which is VERY fussy about what charger you plug in and will charge REALLY slowly (takes all night) if you get it wrong. Also the batteries on them are getting old now and losing their capacity - though they are very easy to replace and not too expensive.
I'll be keeping mine for the foreseeable future. Next thing is to get an Android update. It's stuck on v7 and I much prefer v10-11 which is on my other devices. I wouldn't usually entertain installing a custom ROM but it looks like I'm going to have to. On the plus side I will lose the awful Samsung Touch UI (or whether it's called).

I love this tablet, the lightest by far. Very convenient to hold. I hope they make more of this. I'm still using mine very much but the battery life is now down to about a fourth of its original.

I have 2 Samsung tab S2, one bought as new 400 euro, the other this year as second-hand 100 euro Both work wonderful today , chrome, facebook, normal games. Not a huge difference from tab S6 for what need. I only wish that it had a bigger battery, 4000 mah is enough for a telephone not a tablet. And maybe android update to 9, even unoffic8ally can support android 8. But so far I do my tasks ok with a tablet this old.
