I skipped the Galaxy Tab S2 because it wasn't justifiable having a Tab S 8.4; that being said, I am almost literally quivering in anticipation for the S3! It's got every feature I could possibly want to date in a tablet and HAVE wanted for what seems like forever. I'm excited at the possibilities for Custom ROMs and I have a feeling this tablet is going to be a keeper for the long haul.
Samsung has a good track record of their S3's becoming epic landmarks and this should be the long awaited "Bar Raiser" that'll set our standards sky high for all android tablets to come. If the price is right then this should break Samsung back into the popularity scene in a big way and hopefully rip the reigns right out of Apple's hands. All I can say is... it's about darn time Samsung, welcome back!

Wah, 13 Mar 2017Confused. Why would I want this tablet when I could have t... moreBetter than the current AMOLED screen? I don't think so. Plus the S3 is faster and a fair bit lighter, usb 3.0, and of course better camera's.

Bad move, 28 Feb 2017No. Its very simple. Samsung did not think at all. Apple... moreYou do realize the amoled screen is a much lower power draw than the junk apple uses? The s2 had an average of 15 hours of video playback. Lets see an ipad do that... the battery is bigger than the s2. Unless you are trapped on a desert island 9 hours of constant use is pretty adequate.

I just sold my s2 and ordered the s3. I do agree the price delta is huge though.

If you do only Lock-Screen memos, the battery's going to last for days. Else, except a very good battery life of about 10 hours or more without games, as the SD820 is 14nm, and if you don't push it, it doesn't require that much battery. Add the Super AMOLED display and you're good to go!

I can watch stream from my NAS or local ssd for abkut 5-6 hour none stop. And that is only 5200mAh. Remember windows 10 chew alot more power then iOS or Android OS. That being said. This S3 is 6000mAh but the screen is much smaller and the OS dont drain the battery out as quick. Also the CPU and GPU on this dont use as much as my Tab Pro S. So I assume the battery should be minimum 7-10h long. Depending on how you use it.

How about actually including a stylus pen that Apple charges $130 for?
How about using a Super AMOLED screen that is far superior to anything in any generation of the IPads?
How about using a USB 3.1 type C port instead of a proprietary connector that forces you to buy overpriced Apple accessories? Not to mention faster data transfer than the Apple USB 2.0 connector provides?
How about being able to drag and drop files directly into the tablet without having to jump through hoops with itunes or having an internet connection to access dropbox?

S Pen is the only selling point I can see for this tablet. Otherwise, the Tab S2 is lighter, has a grippy back instead of a slippery mirror, it's fast enough, and it's so much cheaper. I'd only pay extra for a better display, so the same one again at 264 ppi it's not going to cut it for me.
