The battery was ... more10h down to 8h could also be due to changes in the battery optimization which can change with new software updates. The newest software update for the tab S5e improved fluidity and minimized stutters/freezes. Possibly less throttling I suppose with the newer software version and hence more battery drain. That, and off course, natural battery wear and tear. Lithium ion is cheaper than lithium polymer (which is still a lithium ion but with polymer rather than liquid electrolyte), but longevity wise, there shouldn't be much difference assuming they're made up to the same high quality standards. Quality can vary from one manufacturer to another and so you can get good longevity from both technolgies and equally poor longevity depending on the manufacturing quality.

The battery was lasting like 10h on video playback (real world) and after 3 or 4 months it was at 8h. Pretty much my experience with Samsung phones aswell. I'm sure it's because of the old lithium ion tech. Had phones with lithium polymer batteries and they didn't drop in performance like that.

If an android phone or tablet begins to drain battery heavily accompanied more battery heating, my immediate suggestions would always be to 1: factory reset the phone/tablet and 2: reformat the micro sd card. I've had two android phones behaving this way after an android software update and after major changes to Google play store and Google play services.

Fortunately, color level adjustments to Samsung's built in RGB adjustments made it less visible, plus I also further correct the oversaturated amoled colors with 'Color Calibrator' (free app in Google playstore) . If not, I would have returned it for a replacement unit with better amoled screen uniformity.

Mine has terrible uniformity and insane colour shift at the slightest change of viewing angle. The Tab S6 probably has better binned OLED panels.
Everything else you said is true though. I actually switched from an iPad 9.7 2017 or 18 and because of Android alone I wouldn't switch back.

snapdragon 670, 05 Feb 2020i don't this tablet but for this price this tablet is so ba... moreYes, the ipad has a much faster processor. Everything else however, this tab is so much better - a beautiful amoled screen, high quality quad speakers, low price, storage flexibility (1TB storage expansion), extensive android customization, easy file transfers and file management with PCs and android phones, ease of file sharing, compatibility with many peripherals/accessories (thumb drives, mouse, usb hubs, card readers, tv dongles etc.) Also excels in desktop mode (DEX mode) with multitasking and multi window, excels in media consumption (photo/video/music) due to wider 16:10 screen, excellent for social media, browsing, shopping, banking, YouTube and gaming with excellent battery life. It really is a way better tablet in real world use and flexibility than any iPad in existence for half the price or even less than that. Buy an iPad if you want to brag about the processor speed and the Apple logo.

Mike Trz, 30 Jan 2020Bought my S5e back in September. Was pretty pleased with it... moreOLED can't have screen bleed because it doesn't have a backlight like LCD. That's probably a uniformity issue. I noticed that on my unit a couple of months later aswell. Entire top half of the display looks like crap when displaying grey or dark colours...

Bought my S5e back in September. Was pretty pleased with it for nearly 4 months. All of a sudden I picked it up and had screen bleed. Never dropped or bashed, not a single mark on the outside of the tablet. Took it back to the retailer who sent it off for repair. The repairer is saying there is internal damage and they want £180 to fix it. Never had an issue with a piece of Samsung kit before. What's going on. Have they cocked up the design so the screen is not properly mounted / supported? How else can there be internal damage with no external cause?

Using this tab from past 6 months, A great tab I don't use it for hardcore gaming but yeah for office work and studying it's a perfect device. wireless network range is less as compared to my POCOF1 mobile but overall good pproduct!

The wifi antennas are not great, you can easily block them. My access point is right in front of me and I lose a bar when I hold the tablet with my left or both hands.
Software is also an issue since you don't get bug fixes or security updates every month. Android 10 is planned a year later.
I also noticed colour shift and pretty bad uniformity with my unit. My Galaxy A50 has the same weirdness. I assume they are not using the best OLED displays for these models. You also get black smearing on low brightness due to PWM dimming. After lowering the green value in the colour settings I get a pretty nice image though.
If you consider that I bought it at launch, it is not the greatest deal since I got a unit with a not so great display. My battery also started to drop heavily after a couple of months use.
Overall a good tablet but only now worth buying. I agree that the missing headphone jack is just unneccessary and I have a feeling I won't be able to find a replacement battery for this thing. And if I do, it will be difficult to open :/

Got this tablet 1.5 month ago. Payed only 322 euro's, hetting the samsung dockimg station also (i bought it one day too early but the people there are really nice) and overall, it seems like a really good tablet. Don't speak English often atm, please ignore the mistakes in grammar
Only things I don't like
-missing headphone jack, fragile dongle, doesn't work on my phone and laptop
-very obvious colour shift. Eben when the screen is turned off, it looks blue greenish. Compaired it to my tab s2 ve, de screem of the s2 is balck
-back should be black when you order matte black, but it is gray. Lprefer the same colour on the front and the back, or something like black and blue
-wifi seems meh but the wifi at my house is also meh on my phone (lg g7) and laptop (hp zbook)
- no 8 inch version
Things I like:
Screen is more accurute: colours are more natural than previous versions
-OLED is beautiful (black is actually always black instead of darkish gray)
-OLED ,akes me feel less tired after looking at it for a long time (and one of my friends has tge same)
-really thin and light weighted
-big battery. My previous tab has a 4000 mah battery, it could get you through the day (sometimes barely). Nut with this tablet, i watched multiple hours of netflix, played some games, was browsing with google chrome, chatting witch people, watching yputube, and screen ontime is still 12 hours? Charge it now 1 or 2 times a week
-it does support samsung dex
-speakers are awesome
-low price, and midrange is perfect for me
About the burn inissue with OLED: i use my devices on very low brightness. Never had a burn in issue. Got a second hand s4 mini (only oled phone i ever had), no problems. I used my tab s2 for 3 years, the screen is a little bit yellowish but not like annoying yellow, no burn ins after playimg minecraft for hours day after day... my little sister is using it now, b3cause it was still in bery gpod condition for a 3 y3ar old one and ot only needs a new battery. Build quality is very gppd if ypu buy a samsung tablet.
Long revriew lol. Last but not least: you can't get a tab,et with OLED fot this price. Nkt possible. And please don't waste your money on chesp tablets. My sister's was unusable after a year. Only cheap sa,sungs are usable

s5eowner, 10 Jan 2020i dont know why but i have 2 micro sd damage after i use wi... moreThere are lots of fake micro sd cards sold online and even on regular stores that have high storage but are very cheap. They always self-corrupt or become damaged spontaneously once you exceed the true storage capacity. Example, you may think a cheap, fake 64GB micro sd card can store 32GB but it can't. Because it's fake, it starts experiencing self-corruption problems even before you use up 16GB of the fake storage capacity because the truth is, it is only as an 8GB card manipulated to display on your conputer or mobile phone as 64GB. Stop buying from online or regular store sellers that sell high capacity micro sd cards for so cheap because they are most likely fake.

I would love a 4:3 tablet like the S5e. They need to design the antennas better though. "You are holding it wrong" doesn't work anymore!
