Well, I only test on one external hdd, maybe my Hdd has problem, because all my 3 device fail to detect it (1 device is Galaxy S4)
The tab can make voice call, receive sms.
The biggest advantage would be the good 2K AMOLED screen. Very slim 6.6mm thick body.
No NFC. No gorilla glass.
Whatapps can be installed, but is downloaded from external apk.
Gaming is very good. Video playback is just awesome. It has 8MP camera with useful flash.

Apple, 22 Sep 2014Im using ipad mini before. Now im change to this samsung ta... moreI had the same problem with installing whatsapp. I got past it by installing an app backup on my android phone and then via the backup app transferring the backed up app to the tab bia bluetooth. Hope it works.

Guys, my battery is full... after the factory reset, do i still need to charge it for 4 hours before using it just like when i first bought it? THanks!

Im using ipad mini before. Now im change to this samsung tab s . And im very satisfied with this tab.. The only problem is, it cannot dl whatsapp. One more question? Why this tab cannot support external hardisc?

@ Glenbrownwin, you can download aptoide app on the internet and from there you can later download Whatsapp. Worked for me. Hope this helps.

Well, it is more lag than the Galaxy S5 and Note 3, may due to the processor used. There should be different in Qualcomm and Exynos processor.

Cool, better than ipad mini but get hot near back camera after 2 minutes run the tab then get hung up.

For some reason this Amoled tab does not have corning glass so didn't the previous tab 7.7. don't understand why? My tab7.7 screen cracked the day S8.4 was launch and I had no idea why it cracked may be I kept mac book pro on it or my maid dropped it in my absence.....
But having a corning glass may have protected it bit longer

1310, 13 Sep 2014It aint that new, definitely the latest samsung tablet out ... moreI bought it after 2-3 weeks of launch and got the free book cover from samsung, and it is very slim and premium quality. I would suggest to invest on this as it does not add much thickness and maintain its slim figure

However, the multitasking capability is very rely on processor power, and RAM size.
As long it has good CPU (well, at least quad core), and big enough RAM (recommended up to 2GB or more), it will allow multitasking.
For less powerful device, Android OS will close the apps to allow other apps to load, even the apps is still remain on Android task list.
