u know why? bcoz SGW is cheap for its specs. yes, other handset will realease that can be upgraded to ICS. but expect that it will be expensive. no nid for ICS in SGW, bcoz its fast enough. check SGW vs. GS2. see the difference between GS2 and SGW, of course GS2 is faster, but just a "little"

I have bought this smartphone for 2 months.
in my opinion, samsung galaxy w has the best 5MP camera among of all of the smartphones' cameras. you can compare its camera with other competitors in this website.

Hi...everyone using SGW i have problems on my unit if someone call or i using application like music,internet the phone in 3 hrs or more than my SGW not working or i can't the caller voice i think this happen to everyone using the SGW? but after i restart the phone it already working and can hear the voice of caller --- maybe this setting? My dear Friend i need your Advice

shiva, 07 Jun 2012Whether its is avaliable in India?The way I see it, SGW been out for 7-8 months, if by now it's not available in India most likely Samsung decide to skipped this model for india market, might as well wait for SGA2 or SGSA which have higher specs & high possibility having ICS update in future.

no nid to connect ur phone to pc. just update ur firmware via OTA.
step 1: connect to wifi
step 2: u must hav an samsung account. just register.
step 3: go to settings>about phone>software update.
step 4:click agree and download, reboot ur phone.
then thats it.
on first update ur firmware must be (l850DXLC1)
u nid to update ur software twice. like i did on my SGW. u nid atleast 90% battery when updating and installing, so it will not turn off ur phone

Sophster, 06 Jun 2012hi there, thanks for the reply! yeah I tried it through Kie... moreI have same problem when I first using kies to up update my sgw, 1st make sure your kies update it self ( once a while kies would request permission to update its file), 2nd reboot your phone once before updating, at time some corrupted file prevent the update to run smoothly.
1.) Connect the wire between phone & computer.
2.) Wait for the driver to install & connect.
3.) Activate Kies.
4.) Once Kies connect with your phone it will prompt you on any firmware update.
5.) If available, click save setting (incase you need a emergency firmware recovery) if the update fail so that you phone doesn't bricked.
6.) Let the update run automatically, once done kies will promth you to remove the wire & reconnect it, don't do that just yet, wait for the phone to to reboot, you will see a green andoid, then the phone go off, it will follow by a opened box logo, wait untill the phone show wallpaper with all the widget & signal run like normal, then unplug & connect the wire again, if every thing ok kies will promth you that you are having the latest firmware.
Hope this help, if kies tell you no update available then you need to patiently wait, what to do :-)
