Has anyone here with a Samsung Galaxy watch also have an iPhone or know of anyone who has both. The watch is supposedly compatible with both android and ios and I would be interested in anyone who tried it. My watch is connected to my s10 but could it also connect to an ip12 successfully.

Vikranth, 11 Feb 2021I bought Samsung Galaxy Watch 42 mm LTE version in Jan 2021... moreI have the identical watch purchased in September 2019. I also had the same battery issue as you and could not get a full day from it. Then I received a major update in 2020 which fixed the battery issue and I can now get two days from it. I don't know how you use your watch but I have noticed that when I leave my phone behind and use my watch as a phone connection then the battery use rises dramatically and perhaps this may be your problem. Otherwise go into the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone, go to Home and scroll down to Watch software updates and ensure that you have the latest updates on your watch.

I bought Samsung Galaxy Watch 42 mm LTE version in Jan 2021. The back button stopped working in two days. Samsung Service Center replaced it with a new one.

The watch is very Good. I like it, specially the LTE esim feature.

The only problem is battery life. I am getting 12 to 14 hours only. Need to charge every night. Not sure if it is my watch battery problem or everyone else also has same issue.

      Otherwise the watch is awesome!

So they go with the easiest approach that is replace the whole motherboard. And customer have to pay for their inefficiency.

Riaan Vorster, 20 Jan 2021Samsung Customers BEWARE!!!!!! So after being a loyal cu... moreWow that is terrible. Actually I should not be surprised because I have read many complaints where Samsung always maintain that water has got into the device and you are unable to prove otherwise. I also have a Galaxy watch and when I am due to update my phone I will request the dealer to set everything up for me.
Hope it all works out for you.

              Samsung Customers BEWARE!!!!!!

So after being a loyal customer with Samsung for over 10 years, Samsung has shown their true colours, that customers mean absolutely nothing. Guess its now obvious that only money matters.

              The Story starts as follows…
I started saving every penny to buy myself a decent watch, after being disappointed with cheap smart watches, I decided on a Samsung Galaxy watch, After watching the reviews I was very impressed and thus started saving.

I eventually saved up R 6100 and purchased my new Galaxy watch from takealot in Febuary 2019.
Extremely happy with my purchase I looked after my new device, making sure not to get close to water, I did not even sleep with the watch on my wrist. I honestly looked after that watch.

In December 2020, I upgraded my phone as my contract came to an end. So I upgraded from a Samsung S9 to a Samsung S20 FE, again I emphasize that I am a loyal Samsung customer, or at least I used to be.
After my data was copied onto my new Samsung S20 FE, I started setting up my apps, of which the Samsung wearable was one. After the app was ready I proceeded to pair the watch to the new phone, the phone promptly asked me to reset the watch which I thought was strange but proceeded as there was no other option. When the watch eventually restarted I noticed I had lost all the watch faces I had gathered over the year and was very disappointed that Samsung could not even build in a redundancy for keeping your faces, non the less I proceeded to update the watch as it now seemed that the watch was obviously factory reset. Very disappointing.

When the watch had restarted the second time, the heart rate sensor at the back started heating up, I thought this strange as it had never done this before, the battery life dropped from 100% to 10%. I started googling the issue, while I was doing this the watch got so hot it actually burnt my wrist. I immediately took the watch off and placed it on charge, still not knowing what was going on.
I found an article suggesting I switch the watch off and take it to my nearest Samsung repair centre, which I promptly did.

While at the Samsung store at Clearwater Mall on the west rand, I enquired about what was going on with the watch and if this was a regular occurrence, which I was answered that it was NOT !

I was then requested to hand over an additional R 200 to inspect the watch and find the issue, again I was not happy with the additional money spent but did it to find a solution to get my watch back to its original state. While doing this the lady at the counter loosely tells me it’s the motherboard that will have to be replaced, astonished I asked how she would know of which she replies “we always replace the motherboard”. I said fine, please let me know.

The next morning she called me back saying the motherboard needs to be replaced and it would cost me an additional R 3600. Obviously shocked, I asked her for the Samsung Head office number that she recited out of her head, making me assume that this happens more often than not.

So I called the head office and spoke to a customer support lady which immediately asked when the watch was purchased, and then proceeded by telling me the watch is out of warrantee and there is nothing they can do. I then asked to speak to her manager and was transferred eventually to a team leader after waiting on the line for over 30 minutes.

The Team leader Tumi then asked a series of questions and I explained the above predicament, of which he said he would escalate and would feedback to me after 2 working days.

I waited a week, with no phone call, no email and no answer to my issue. Naturally I called back expecting feedback, this was the Wednesday a week after my first call. Waiting an additional 30 minutes to be transferred to Tumi, after numerous attempts to get through to him the call centre agent told me they would send him an email to contact me back. So again I supplied my cell number etc to the call centre agent. No call no feedback.

Thursday I call again with the same issue, cannot reach Tumi, no feedback, email will be sent, again contact details were provided.

Friday, called again, same issue but this time I was told by the call centre agent that Tumi has no idea who I am or what I want, could I re-explain the issue and it will sent to the team leader via an email, again contact details were provided.

Monday, called again, however this time there was feedback in the form of the customer escalation team have been trying to get hold of me…… but how is that possible I have no missed calls on my Samsung device, I have provided my contact details over and over…..

I ask to be transferred to this team and they tell me they were only provided with a landline number…. ? what? But I have been providing my cell number this whole time ?????????
Anyway, I am then told that the escalation was regarding the shop charging me too much to fix my watch…. WHAT????? REALLY ??????? so much for team leaders in Samsung.

I re explained my story yet again expecting to actually get some sort of help. The lady was very supportive and recorded my story and promised me that it would be escalated to management.
Wednesday, this now 2 weeks later, I get a phone call with the new agent explaining that if there are scratches on the device the warrantee ceases….. I replied saying that I don’t want them fixing the scratches if any, I want the watch back in working order. I was then told that its unfortunate but that is the answer. WOW Samsung, well done there on customer service, great job.

I have now yet again asked to speak to management…. So we wait.

Please people, be careful when buying Samsung watches, apparently there is absolutely no help for you out there, read on the internet and you will find many articles and complaints in the same line. It seems this company will find a reason NOT to help their loyal customers that spend millions on their products.

Bought a smart samsung watch on 24/06/2020 after two months i found it is overheating.Discussed service centre they were avoiding to attend then kept but not taken any action after two months they said it will not under warranty and you have to pay advance .on 05/10/2020 they have taken advance Rs.6000/- and repairing charges conveyed was Rs.12000/- after a month they again refused ,that it is not possible to repair .we havent collected it back now in december last they said more repair work are required so repair charge will be now Rs.18000/-.So the cost of watch Rs.29000/- after 2 months use cost of repair Rs.18000/-.Please add this amount before purchasing it.

                                Hi,
Previously I got a problem with Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier - a continuous use of the heart monitor burned a square hole in my skin 2-3 mm deep (1mm x 2mm x 3mm) - it was a slow roast so no bleeding. I have noticed it cose of a pinching pain on the wrist. It cured itself after 2 weeks with a little scar remained (just to scare Samsung !!!).

I wrote Samsung a message but nobody answered. Since I have covered the sensors (lenses) with a permanent ink pen, switch off the heart app, otherwise happy with the watch.

I have just bought Samsung Watch (46) as a Xmass20 gift to myself (sale !) as it has an imbedded eSIM - but the very first thing was to switch off a heart app and to cover bottom lenses of the watch with permanent ink and a little round sticker to prevent any burns/pain.

There are many similar 'Galaxy' complaints on the net !!!
I did not searched other manufacturers/brands for a similar problem - but I think it is common as the sensing laser technology is the same/similar.
Perhaps not everybody is reacting in such a sensitive way - although few is enough.

The puzzling question is why Samsung with all its huge research budget did not do anything to fix the problem they are aware off for long time by now.

Is there anyone to experience the same with an Apple Watch ?????

I have had the same watch for 13 months in Australia and love it. I normally don't use it independently because its too difficult make a call because of the size of the screen. I have left my s10 at home at times on weekends and I find battery usage seems to increase without the phone on me. I can get about 2 days battery with literally evrything switched on. Remarkable watch.

It can be had for a little as 170$ (if you live in the United States) or 260$ for the LTE version. I have a 42mm LTE version I've been using as an independent device for about 12 months now. The battery life of the 42mm is a bit short about a day with wifi and LTE on. I would fork over the extra 20$ for the 46mm because the battery on that one is a lot larger. A word of caution, you must already have a phone to use this watch independently, and your cell network provider has to support wearables. I use T mobile but they charge an extra 10$ because they add the cost of connecting the watch on top of connecting my phone. Also, get a screen protector. They are expensive but the one I have has saved my watch from many scratches and has been good for over a year.

I have now had mine more than 12 months and have nothing but praise for it. I have the small LTE watch and it can be completely independent of my phone.
