deepu, 06 Aug 2013is htc desire x better or grand quatro....guys please sugge... moreHello Deepu, even I had the same question before buying my Grand Quattro recently and these are the reasons I didn't go for HTC Desire X(dual SIM):
(i) HTC has Only 4GB internal memory out of which usually more than 2GB would be already eaten by Jelly bean OS- so very less internal memory. Since Jelly bean doesn't support Apps2SD, we should go for a phone with at least 8GB internal memory. Quattro has 8GB internaly memory out of which around 5GB is free.
(ii) Screen size is just 4 inches in HTC but Quattro has 4.7 inches. 4.7 inch fits easily in pocket and it can be also held easility in one hand. Dont go for more than 4.7 inches unless you have a very large hand!
(iii) Almost all HTC phones have very low battery capacity- and the desire X is no exception with it's 1650mAH battery. Quattro has 2000mAH
(iv) Quattro has more RAM (1GB vs 768MB) and it's Quad core- so better performance
(v) Last but not the least, as per the reviews it seems HTC supports 3G only in one SIM but Quattro can support 3G either in SIM1 or SIM2(of course you cannot enable 3G simultaneously in both SIMs)
So I think Quattro would be a better choice.
At this price range even LG L7II dual(P715) is an excellent choice with it's 4.3 inch screen and a huge 2450mAH battery but the internal memory of 4GB was the main reason for me not going for the L7II dual.

In my Quattro, while recording video inside room in Fluorescent light(tube-light) , I get a lot of flickering in video every few seconds. This is seen in the recorded video also. Is this normal, or do I have a defective unit? Do you also get flickering while recording in Fluorescent light? I haven't yet tested in Tungsten light- would check it later and update here. Initially I thought this may be due to slow memory card but even if I change storage location to internal memory I get the same issue. However, other than the flickering issue till now I am getting excellent quality pictures and videos from the camera.

one more thing. if you stick a 4g sim in it. it wouldn't pick up the lower bands (3g/2g/cdma )even if you try to choose network manually. so your best bet is to use a 3g or lower card

got one to play with coz it's cheap. the dual sim function is really good. and option for picking desired data network from the sim that you want. (ex: sim1 is local but expensive data. sim2 is prepaid data or another local carrier. or sim1 with only gprs data. second sim is prepaid 3g data)which you can choose cell network on sim1 but use data on sim2. a bit sluggish on the touch though. but acceptable. battery use is decent

AnonD-172136, 04 Aug 2013Guys.... dont spread fake reviews.... grand quattro..is the... moreHello Yadi, I don't think the reviews are fake.
you might have been lucky to get a phone with updated software, but if somebody gets a Quattro without the updated softare version it is really crashing too much and just rebooting. Luckily Samsung has privided OTA(Over The Air) software update to fix the bugs but it was disappointing to see that a Company like Samsung releases phones without thorough testing. However, after the software update it really semms to be an outstanding phone. It looks almost like s3.

AnonD-172175, 04 Aug 2013day before yesterday only i bought it ...now after 2 days e... moreHello mayank, as explained in my other post, please try a software update via wifi(or by taking to Samsung customer service) and see whether it improves(it seems we can do software update from PC using Kies also, but I haven't tried it and usually PC download would download a very large file(OTA downloads only the incremental files). If the 3G has been problemetic in this phone brom begininng, make sure you have selected the correct settings for APN and selection of 3G mode(WCDMA). Is 3G working fine in another phone in your area with good speed? Otherwise it can be a network issue. How many bars of signal are you getting? If you get only one or two bars then it may be slow. In my Quattro which I purchased yesterday internet seem to be working fine. It is not as fast as my Galaxy 10.1 tab2 Tablet, but it is haveing acceptable speed. I would check the exact download speed later on and update you.
