Thus far this Xcover series for Samsung has been a hugely missed opportunity for 2 things; a) lack of model choices (need just 2 a not so weak low end and a proper PRO) and b) 4000mAh for a rugged line is a nono, has to be AT LEAST 6000mAh and up.

What opportunity I mean? As a proper rival against these Chinese brands; Oukitel, Ulefone, Blackview, Umidigi etc. These brands' Achilles heel no.1 and 2; after sales support and software updates, the 2 things that Samsung obviously are far better resourced at. They're only good at releasing phones as fast as they could with aggressive pricings but again w/ that annoying ship back to reseller RMAs and good luck if a phone bought will ever get past 2 updates.

Samsung should just shrink the A, M, and F lines to make for better Xcovers imho.

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2022I can say that it works just fine on cricket wireless, but ... moreYes, the FCC was posted earlier but as also posted previously, just because certain bands were submitted for approval does not necessarily mean they are all enabled in the phone. I have personally experienced this on a previous phone. That's why many of us are hoping someone will be able to directly confirm from the phone in their hand which bands are enabled on the U.S. version.

Hope they sell this on SEA Region! Will instabuy one even if its gonna be slightly expensive, I dont care as what I want is it having all feature or functionality. IP68, sdcard slot, 3.5mm jack & last but not the least the rare of rare "easily removable/replaceable batteries"!

Anonymous, 13 Dec 2022Are you able to determine which bands are enabled on it?I can say that it works just fine on cricket wireless, but I do not know how to find the supported bands, engineering mode seems to be inaccessible. I'm pretty sure this has already been posted, but here is the fccid page in case that helps. https://fcc.repo rt/FCC-ID/A3LSMG736U/

SD card, headphone jack, and removable battery on a decent processor? If this had an AMOLED screen I'd be running out to buy it. That said, the screen isn't bad so assuming it can be rooted it's definitely my next phone. I'll even buy it directly from Samsung instead of second hand like I usually do.

Hey, I just wanted to say a big thanks to Zakalwe for testing all the rugged phones and sharing a lot of important details about them. For me, your opinion (which is always based in facts and real day-to-day experience) is even more authoritative than all the phone site reviews who never seem to truly understand the purpose of rugged phones. Maybe consider making Youtube reviews? Anyway, you rock, man!

This phone proves that Samsung has no problem giving wired DeX support to phones with upper midrange chipset. Even the Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G also has wired DeX support, and it runs on the same chipset as the Galaxy A42 5G. So by right, the A42 5G, the A52 5G, and also the A52s 5G should have USB-C 3.1 with video output support in the first place. It's just a crying shame that Samsung doesn't want to hurt their Galaxy S and Galaxy Z Fold sales.

Despite this, lawmakers have still chosen to set a very low legal SAR limit, to make sure that people are exposed to only minuscule amounts of this harmless radiation.

And now even that is not enough? A phone being well below the legal maximum is "deal-breaking"? Seriously.

If you are looking for a reason to stay with your A52s: It is merely one year old.
