And ideally all ads blocked via dns. Ads confuse old people. I cant count the number of times the ads pull them from puzzle games.

I hope it has a very accurate GPS/GNSS. I would be interested in a robust smartphone with a eye-friendly display and an accurate GPS (route tracking, hiking, geocaching).

Unlike Amoled technology, TFT technology does not have PWM. It makes your eyes less tired. The phone is more likely for people working in production and other employees. Its purpose is to be strong and not cause fatigue. The characteristics must satisfy the objectives and nothing more.
If you are waiting for the Samsung S99 ultra level, then you should start to understand this world better.

Samsuunglover, 12 Jan 2024TFT LCD!? Single Rear Camera!? Only 1080P@30FPS!? That is ... moreThere is no "Pro" to the Xcover7 - this is basically the successor to the Xcover 5, not to the Xcover6 Pro. Samsung has been alternating the Xcover releases for a while now - budget phone one year, "Pro" phone about a year later. Now is a budget phone year. I'd expect Xcover8 Pro rumors in a year or so.

TFT LCD!? Single Rear Camera!? Only 1080P@30FPS!?
That is a big downgrade 👎 compared to Xcover 6Pro Which Has PLS LCD, Dual Rear Cameras, 4K@30FPS Video Recording!

It's so similar to the 5th one and it's basically a downgrade from
6 as the 4K camera is removed and the design is simply less innovative.

Keeps things compatible, e.g. with external chargers. I agree that larger would have been nice for phones of this size, but generally the battery life is good for the intended purpose - the customers for these phones are unlikely to be playing games or watching videos.

A pro version would have me excited altough this Xcover 7 is a decent workhorse.
The tab seems more exciting and not so low end.

this would be a good phone for old people, though at a reasonable price is preferred.

With the big size and weight, I would never have imagined only 4,050mAh battery would be provided. Lol

Looks like it's xcover 6 pro with different CPU, android 14 and without 8 MP ultrawide camera sensor. And new "body design".
I have hope that they keep notification LED on top.
Time to switch from my xcover 4s.

ultimatetroller500, 10 Jan 2024Removable battery + ip68, to all the haters saying its not ... moreIt has been a thing for a long time. The problem is that smartphone brands won't cover a warranty for water damage, which defeats the point of having IP68 water resistance on phones.

I knew that this would serve as the replacement for the XCover 5, not the XCover6 Pro. After all, just like the XCover 5, it doesn't have a 120Hz screen, ultrawide camera, and USB3 with wired video output and DeX support.

I guess this an interesting way of Sammy to revive their Galaxy S-- rugged series. And this one compared to the previous version just got downgraded!!!
