I am very sad having this phone. My galaxy y display goes bad & after few times it get backs to normal then it goes to bad again like the computer having bad agp card. The problem arise within 6 months after buying it. I use it carefully & it never dropped yet. Is it software problem or hardware problem? If anyone knows the solution please provide that to me. (Though I have warranty but their service is so bad cause, they take more than 3 weeks. So, if it is possible to make the phone normal by myself then I won't send it to them for warranty)

You can also update this phone to 4.1 jelly bean..threw rooting and installing rom as i did..but be cauncious follow step by step unless u will stuck in a problem and nobody will liable for it...for more info click the link below

Was happy when I bought this phone put soon encountered alot of technical difficulties. Kies is also a buggy and heavy program.

Battery power is of low quality. If u wish to listen music then u would be hugely disappointed for the sound is very low. In short, I am experiencing all sorts of problem.
P.S. I need not to be told that I don't know how to use smartphone.

there is a possibility of getting android 4.2 for the galaxy y according to android authority.they found galaxy y running android 4.2 jellybean along with some other devices such as xperia arc s.you can read full story here
