galaxy y has a washed-out crappy screen display compared to galaxy pocket, really bad for viewing camera pictures which has a wrong pinkish tint! maybe samsung engineers are g*ys

as you said," perform a hardware factory data reset.. press and hold volume down key, power key, and the center button all at the same time for about 5 seconds until the android system recovery displays on your screen" to remove the lock is done, but it is asking for volume up or down, what to do ?

hold volume up button+home button+key lock button
u will enter in recovery mode
then operate this menu through volume up down button and for ok press home button.
now select format cache partition
u r done reboot u r phone .....
remember ur all phone data will be deleted
