I'll get to use this for a few months (havnt had a foldable before) and then demo out the V2 when it finally comes (hopefully with stylus). I dont care about the waterproofin personally (dont mind if its there but doesnt change my decision one way or another).
However I dont expect to stay with the Fold 5. I want the phone to feel like a full phone when in cover display, not a makeshift cover display while you cant open it. Losing wireless charging will be a bummer, but probably worth it when charge speed goes from 25w to 66w or something.
But lets see, hope i dont fall in love too much with the Fold 5 software in these months.

I'm much confused.

Big disappointment, do think carefully to buy foldable phone...I has zfold4 with samsung care+ expire Sep 2023. I use for 10 months thr screen protector got bubble on the crease. Sent to Samsung service center and asked to wait 1 month because all service centers have no stock in Indonesia. I asked the staff if need to peel off the screen protector to avoid lcd damage but the staff wait until new screen protector arrive and replace by authorized staff. After 1 week the lcd damage got black on crease from top to bottom and getting wider day by day. I went to ssc again to find the same staff and they made me have to wait LCD another week. After 1 week I check, they said need to wait battery another week where not informed before. It just simply screen protector but this biggest brand has no stock and cause other parts damage and make customers wait for weeks. I won't buy new foldable phone in this 3 years before the phone has improved inner lcd and hinges.

Anyone who bought foldable phone didn't make a mistake. Yes, they have some lacks, but which phone don't! Samsung's Folds are excellent phones, great features, beautiful screens, much more options than "regular" phones. I've had my Z Fold 3 for two years and I am still very satisfied. So, if anyone is planning to buy Z Fold, go ahead, you won't regret. My next will be almost certainly Z Fold 6, or 7...

I've been spending a few different days demoing the Fold 5 and Honor Magic Vs back and forth.
The Fold 5 is surely tempting, but I feel the narrow cover display just isnt very useful and pricing is the other factor. The software really is impressive though and I'm sure I wouldnt exactly be let down with a Fold 5 either. But I just feel it's not a 500€ worth better than some competitors. Really depends on how that Magic V2 turns out as well as what is OnePlus bringing out.

Bought my first foldable phone, the Z Fold5 and I'm loving it. Getting used to such a big screen. Got a 512GB option for the price of the 256GB and additional carrier discount.

I was hoping samsung will give us an upgrade of
mega 6.3 and tab s2 8.0. The greatest tablets ever made by samsung but samsung fold is the way to go forward then let it be .....

The question is: with the whole new Waterdrop Hinge Design, when i fold this phone, that means could be less strain to Plastic Oled than older generation and more reliable? Or just the same damage like the U Design?

Honestly, I have one of these on pre order and I can't wait.
It's my first foldable, and the deal I got it on was cheaper than getting a fold 4.
However, I'm only getting the phone as my boss offered to get me a workphone and suggested a foldable to help with doing work outside of the office and on the go (our CTO has a fold 4 and swears by it)
