The question is: with the whole new Waterdrop Hinge Design, when i fold this phone, that means could be less strain to Plastic Oled than older generation and more reliable? Or just the same damage like the U Design?

Honestly, I have one of these on pre order and I can't wait.
It's my first foldable, and the deal I got it on was cheaper than getting a fold 4.
However, I'm only getting the phone as my boss offered to get me a workphone and suggested a foldable to help with doing work outside of the office and on the go (our CTO has a fold 4 and swears by it)

You got part of it right on you philosophy but the charging extra is not right. Mostly today is lower end and midrange phones have the micro sd card slot. Flagships from the top manufacturers are as you said making more money by charging more for internal storage. There is still quite a bit to do with micro sd cards, they are just forcing people to buy phones to not use it. They are still thinking of coming out with 2tb cards. Just taking a long time to do it.

The reason they don't do that is so they can sell you the 512gb model or the 1tb model by making consumers feel FOMO. It would only require the phone to probably be 1mm bigger in all dimensions. Sony puts a micro SD card slot in their flagship phones and they aren't that different. If you look at the S23U and Xperia 1 V they have extremely similar specs but yet the Sony phone has a Micro SD card slot. However Sony is def making you pay for that SD card slot by charging $1400+ dollars for the Xperia 1 V while the S23U is only $1200. That is basically saying this Micro SD card slot costs you $200+. If you buy the 1tb S23U you'd be paying the same $1400. Neither company is our friend. I bet it only costs Sony an extra like $1 to put that MicroSD card slot in the phone.

Is 19grams of weight that heavy? iPhone 14 pro max is 240g so only 13g heavier. Are people really having trouble carrying an extra 13g-19g of weight around? Honestly I'd rather they make phones heavier and thicker so they can put bigger batteries in them.

The smartphone market is honestly pretty dull rn, and is gonna continue to look pretty dull for the next few years (at least for the western market).
