Both i450 and N81 are better than W960 as Music Phones, the SE is just a P1 posing as a music phone.

To kevin; pls format your microSD card using the i450 (and do not format it using winxp- due to difference os and fat architecture built). After that, transfer all your mp3 to memcard sound folder using your computer. Now turn on yer phone and play all yer media. If this wont help, ask for warranty. Maybe yer i450 microSD slot is problem.
I've tested i450 and sonyE w960 sound quality using altec lansing- orbitM portable speaker. The result, i450 beats w960 in sound quality, loudness and 3D surrond mode. Half volume of i450 equals full volume w960. I also try plug-in w960 earphone to i450 and get same result. My choice for a music phone is i450. Download symbian software here: www.symbian-skin.com and you'll love yer i450

If you want Wi-Fi, Ngage gaming with Gaming Keys, FlashLite3.0 with Web Run Time Widgets, plus 2 3D dual speakers on each side, plus more RAM and a Faster CPU then get N81. Otherwise if the above is not necessary, get i450.

Dear All,
I already bought i450, and here my opinion about the sound quality.
w/ default earphone :
1. Sound quality is below average
2. too soft
3. not louder than express music or others nokia music edition
4. the bass very low.
5. if we compare the audio quality w/ SE W series, i450 totally lose.
w/ senheiser PX100
1. not too soft but not too loud to.
2. the bass even w/ SE W series
3. yes, with this earphone u can get the B&O sound quality.
4. The 3D equalizer is too damn good.
5. heard like using crystallizer technology.
so i suggest if u buy this phone, u should buy additional high end earphone or headphone, to get the real B&O amplifier. if not, u guys will be disappointed.

To any bro who wants to get the samsung i450...
in comparison to n81
Pros...
-Better Camera Quality,(Sharper)even though both are 2 MP
-Great Loudspeakers
-Very Bright and Big Screen(Images Look More attractive on this)
-Sound quality is very good when in BASS & TREBLE mode
-Great Design and colour Combination(i have the onyx black edition)
Cons...
-No wi-fi (i did not need it)
-Sound output through default pair of headphones is not that loud due to some hearing protection eq setting but the quality of songs that can be heard is very very awesome
hope this helps.....
what i mean by soft is when travelling around there are a lot of background noises, even though the vol is at max 10 u can hear back ground noise when listenin to songs
Final Verdit
The phone did not dissapoint me that much only that the sound output through headphones is soft in noisy places but not in quiet places

Hey, i have the same issue with the phone too.. The sound output from the earphone is relatively soft compared to sony ericsson phones. i read in the website, it states that it have a Hearing Protection EQ Setting to protect your hearing from being damaged. Hopefully they have a software upgrade where the abolish this setting or hopefully someone found a software tat can bypass the settings. Ive use LCG jukebox, well, it makes the volume even softer though u will have more control over the music in LCG jukebox. HOW TO LIFE LOUD WHEN THE MUSIC IS SOO SOFT!! Wat a contradictory with their motto!!!
