Any suggestions whether it is safe to buy Samsung i550w directly from Chinese wholesaler? The link to their site is as follows: www.globalsourcesdirect.com. If anyone can advise me regarding whether this is a real Samsung product or some sort of cheap knock-off, I'll be extremely grateful!

In Indonesia the server was h-slp.mnc001.mcc510.pub.3gppnetwork.org. It can be different for other country.
To download data u must ensure that gprs connection already set and work fine, test by browsing.

Very good phone. It's not a slide phone therefore it is more durable than the other phone models that have a slide or clam design. great job samsung. Kick nokia ass!

to optimize GPS navigation system on your phone Samsung i5550w you must upgrade firmware so u will have a GPS+ icon to download data from server. My firmware is i550DBHD2 April 28-2008. Cek by typing *#1234#. The program GPS+ will speed up tracking satellite, and expired date will 1 week later.
