I recently bought galaxy 5..awesome phone..but havin some problems with wi-fi..connectivity range is within 4-5 meters from d wireless router..n even then it sucks..i installed wi-fi fixer..but the problem persists..is anyone else experiencing similar problems?any solution?
Ps:The router works just fine..tested nokia e-63..

I got galaxy5 recently.
In my previous samsung phones, if I enable broadcast message setting, I used to get the location (referring to the service provider location).
I want to know how I can set this in android phone. I couldn't find any option.

Battery Backup Problem

I have a work around for the problem of battery backup being very poor, which I tried it on my mobile.
Workaround
==========
Switch off your mobile and then charge.
Result
======
Battery life increases to around 2-2.5 days ( standby mode )

Best and Cheapest Android Phone for Techincally Sound people. As Android requires many features to be known before using the same.
Only major differences with Galaxy 3 are -
1. Camera Quality.
2. Screen Resolution.
3. DRM Availability.

I purchased a Galaxy 5 from Jumbo Electronics, Amby Mall, Gurgaon on 17th Oct - for Rs. 8900. We never intended purchasing a Samsung phone, but the looks, Android 2.1, GPS and the price tag bowled us over. Basically, low megapixel camera and screen resolution is what theoretically sets it apart from some of the best smart phones.
The excitement of owning this phone was short lived though. Battery self drains itself in less than 3-4 hours, inspite of no GPS, no wifi or even data communication being enabled. I am not being able to use it even as an alarm!!! as fully charged phone at night is drained out by the time alarm ring is due!
Now the usual stuff - I called Samsung and insited on a replacement, and keeping up the maxim of "consumer always loses" i am doing rounds of their service centers.
In short - please stay away from this phone. Don't fall for the glamor, real quality is missing. I have a Blackberry Bold 2 and all i can say is that this phone is just meant to entice novice bunnies.
