Hi This is out of topic, but i am facing some problem.

When somebody calls me on my samsung spica, and person is not in my contact list; the number is not seen on screen. Is there any soft ware by which i can see those missed call numbers ? This is very important for me; as i am doctor by profession.

IF some body knows this, please mail me on askchauhan@rediffmail.com

I belong to Chandigarh, India by the way.

i am new to touchscreens and android. can we have a T9 alphanumeric keypad on this (android)phone? i suppose, keys on T9 layout would be larger than the keys in qwerty layout and might be more convenient and faster for a text input.

like many others in this discussion i'm deciding between nokia 5800 and i5700 which fall in the same price range.

Sagar, 03 Apr 2010Sorry to ask one more thing..is there any map application f... moreAndroid market in our region allows only free apps, hence, all those are free.

Android eclair is latest version of Android Mobile Platform. One need to upgrade to eclair to take advantage of latest google offerings (Voice Search, Google Goggles + Bluetooth File Transfer etc.) + other apps which are compatible with only Android +1.6.

It won't void any warranty until you are on proper f/w, specific only to your region.

Android 1.5 is no boring. Infact, it runs far smoother than 2.1 and way more snappier in performance. From the fact, it won't support apps written for +1.6, you will need to upgrade to v2.1. Even if you don't upgrade, leave apart only countable no. of apps, rest all will support android 1.5.

If you simply replace your home launcher with another launcher, you need not to worry about anything.

GDE, for example can replace your default home without even having root access. It is as simple as installing routine apps from market.

This is true! Google Maps won't let you save map-tiles on to sd-card for offline usage later. This is what we call google ;)

Fortunately, there are number of apps which allows you to save map-tiles to your sd-card for later offline usage. RMaps, Maps (-), OruxMaps, MapDroyd are few of them. Maps (-) enable caching of vectors for later offline usage while MapDroid enables you to download vectors for any specific region e.g. Asia, Africa and so on, enabling offline usage later on. With MapDroid you also have an option to download vectors for some particular country under a given region as well e.g. Asia >> India. Talking about RMaps, you can download Map-vectors only at your PC and later saving it to sd-card to enable RMaps app have access to those vectors for coordinating your GPS location with map-tiles. I haven't yet tried any free app which facilitate voice-guidance though, there is a paid app called "Co-Pilot" which enables Voice Guidance but it has issues working with android cupcake. Haven't tested it on v2.1 so far. Will let this thread know if I do.

                                    Hope this helps :)
