that's why they used to use the word 'rooting' that i've just figured out. it came from basic term 'root' as we use as superuser on unix/linux, am i correct???
is there any 'compiling kernel' things also??? hehehe... (lol)

Since its a newer firmware so you will use spica_jc3.ops
follow the tutorial at

just remeber to remove and re insert the battery after hard reseting the fone and before putting it in download mode. things can go wrong so do it at your own risk. i had to enable the usb debug in the phone to make it work.

it is only cost Rp 2900 million around US$310... is it cheaper than other country ?

did it by my self, took help from a few tutorials on the net. Though the tutorials are not perfect, you still have to do some trouble shooting by your self. especially while installing the device drivers.

Just updated mine to 2.1 and the phone experience is highly improved, speed is quicker, ringtone volume is louder and better, touch inout has improved. It looks and feels like a new device now

As for the message notification you can set it on repeat. Click on messaging --- menu key -- you get COMPOSE-DELETE THREADS -SETTINGS at the bottom of the screen. Click on settings and scroll down to notification settings. Adjust as needed :)

I'm from Europe, BiH to be exact, but picked ... moreu say you are from europe ..so i think its better if u flash a european version..i think even the 2.1 does not have market app in middle east firmwares.. some sort of country policy i think...and you get the country specific options by the firmwares you flash..i 'm from India and my firmware has hindi keyboard and orkut app..so something could be specific to your country..check out http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/WEBPROTECT-samsungandroidi5700.htm

teja, 30 Mar 2010how do i know if the battery is full..??there seems no noti... moreYes there is.... when it's charging you see little "lightning bolt" on the battery, when it's full the "bolt" is gonne. Also if the screen is locked and you tap/short press unlock button it'll tell you on the screen "battery charging" or if full "battery full, unplug charger" :) Hope this helps

I'm from Europe, BiH to be exact, but picked up phone at Dubai airport so it's not on any contract on anything. I'd love to have market app on it though, and was thinking about flashing but I never did it before and had second thoughts, don't wanna brick the phone.. But I think when I update to 2.1 it should have market app on it, I'll try to install european version of update, german or UK, samsung want release it for my country anyways, BiH is not even on the list on the samsung mobile web site... If you have any sufggestions or comments please let me know and thank you.
