Hi all,
Another problem, I always sync with internet sometime when the EDGE disconnects for example when I go in lift or in a no network area. Later when I'm in a full network area EDGE is not starting up, even if I try forcing it to start its not starting, only way is to re-start my mobile, anyone having issue like this.

any ideas how i can play .avi files on spica? i can only play small .mp4 files. tried to play a full .mp4 movie and didn`t work. 10x

Hi,
I want to ask you people to know very well the phone before buying it.
1. This is Samsung, which for me doesn't compare with any other brand (in a negative way). I am sorry I spent money on it.
2. System used is Android (mostly 1.5 with update at request to 2.1). This is good system for lots of games and stupid apps.
3. THIS IS IN NOT A PROFESIONAL DEVELOPED PHONE : it will not sync contacts, agenda, events, etc. Although the overall time to sync details is minimum 20-25 minutes !!!
4. Software for it (KIES) is built in a stupid way, it does not work and probably Samsung considers all the planet stupid.
5. MOST IMPORTANT: u will not have any privacy as all your contacts will be synced with your gmail. I really don't get it how come google needs to brute force my personal details.
OVERALL: if u didn't buy it yet, don't buy. If u bought, sell it and delete personal info on gmail. And don't ever buy again Samsung or Android platform.
Way better and much much faster phone are provided by Nokia and Sony (i own Spica, E51, W910i, k600i, 2370C, etc).

I hear samsung won't made it..
But 2.2 can run on i5700 with limitation, some hardware still not work..

One way is to do wat kevin suggested.
or if you are familiar with linux then go the android sdk way. you can use the adb tool part of sdk to launch a shell and issue the cmd dmesg to get the logs. Trace out the culprit from there.
dmesg lists the system log.

I flashed Spica to Android 2.1 but i still have problems with bluetooth. Phone says "Paired but not connected". I could not connect phone through BT in Kies or NPS. Although sending files from PC to Spica works using Windows7 Bluetooth function, but not from Spica to PC. How to fix that issue?
And BTW Spica has nasty bug: when you start the camera the processor goes to 800 Mhz, and remains stuck there till next reboot! Partial solution is http://samsungfw.wordpress.com/2010/07/11/cools-a-great-app-for-your-spica-improving-battery-life/

Just check teh pattern of app isage and gprs usage. also your own personal usage patterns that might tell you what the culprit is, also if this occurs a lil too much then please visit samsung service point.

Any idea on how to go about upgrading from 1.5 cupcake to 2.1 eclair or 2.2 froyo.

Ganesh, I havent experience3d anything of that sort try formatting teh sd card and leave it blank for 2-3 days and then see if it still restarts as usually this problem arises due to memory card and huge data on it.

Have anyone experience this, my mobile gets re-start or sometimes switched off. Really experiencing this quite often. Can't think why this happens. If anyone can help here it will better.

just bought it on Monday 12 July 2010. Its an Awesome phone, works just lyk iphone probly better. has more featurs and loads of free apps to download. Browser is lil bit slow but opera Mini works great. both landscape and potrait on screen keyboard work awesome. Although it has cupcake on it the 1.5 and planning to upgrade it to 2.1 or 2.2 lets see how does that go. The phone is out of stock every where luckily i searched 20 shops and then go it.
