Gents, after researching on fones for more than 45 days, I'm finally biting the bullet and buying the Galaxy 3 today... I've always felt a phone is for talking and texting and nothing more but the world has moved on so much in these last 2-3 yrs and technology has gone bonkers so I'm joining the bandwagon too...First time I'm moving out of Nokia too...The Android platform scares and excites me.. Hopefully if I struggle with things, the nice ppl in this forum will help me solve my problems..
Btw, been seeing a lot of posters asking for price and I'm getting mine for 11632 all inclusive.. Vendor is aadhya carrier devices (98454 24365) and price was supposedly a 'corporate discounted price' but I'm sure smart folks can haggle and get it too at the same price. Hope this info helps someone.

My cousin bought this phone jus recently and i used it for 2 days. Looks wise it was nice, the battery is very big it looks as if its an old age phone, touch sensitivity is gud, sound is below average, headphones are nt dat gud, its a bit heavy, picture quality is gud though without enuff light its pathetic, internet speed is gud, nt sleek enuff.
The biggest drawback is that the battery takes lot of tym to charge. Even though i kept it on charging for 2 hrz also the battery was nt fully charged. I had read sumwer that the battery takes 5 hrz to charge up fully.

bought this mobile in last week,
its best in this price range, gives good android experience.
But android is so powerful that the spec of this mobile do not justify that(lil bit disappointment).
but for complete android experience you will have to invest around rs. 25000. So this mobile is good for price range.
Software(touchwiz 3.0) from samsung is really good & optimized for smooth experience(install awd launcher to experience difference between touchwiz 3.0 and awd launcher).
Sound quality I don't think is good compared to samsung wave.
Video quality is very good.
You will face resolution problem only when you watch images, photos with good resolution. otherwise it is good.
CPU ticks faster, speed is good.

GPS Sucks on this phone , do not buy this phone if you want to use GPS on this phone. The GPS is as good as not working.

Is task killer fine or app like Power Manager will do good. pls let me know for saving my battery life...

anju, 15 Sep 2010harsha...me again...i followed honeytech blog steps for the... morehi the cache clean up is not given for 3rd party application but click the left click and change the filter to all there you find a lot of android applications den follow the things i provided in the link.it works with most of the things.
The second problem that is rised may be due to unsecured wifi connect if you are using it(i never worked on it as i always use the secured one which have id and password.)if i find any way me it i shall help you.write now i don't know.try to follow all the steps in that link even though there are no 3rd party applications.

1.use advanced task killer which is lightest and you can kill the task killer also when you are killing all other application.so it won't bother you as it won't be running in background all the time.
2.people telling about the running application in the settings it won't show all the application running i have checked most of the time so its not much helpful

Hello,
yes this is right that task killer slows down the device. i found all task killer apps have hell lot of bugs in them.
instead of that there is a option 'running services' in settings->applications.make a shortcut of that on desktop.that will be very helpfull in tracking and exiting processes.
